Just to make this official:

GM to use Tesla charging network, joining Ford in leveraging the EV leader’s tech

  • General Motors will follow crosstown rival Ford Motor in partnering with Tesla to use the electric vehicle leader’s North American charging network and technologies.
  • GM, like Ford, will begin installing a charging port used by Tesla, known as NACS, instead of the current industry-standard CCS in its EVs starting in 2025.
  • The deal was announced by GM CEO Mary Barra and Tesla CEO Elon Musk during a live, audio discussion on Twitter Spaces

Maybe I'm reading too much into things but Barra did not sound exactly happy seemed like she wanted to end the call ASAP.

She did what she had to do, and that's survive. Also, GM can now tout having access to the largest charging network. This is what you call "outsourcing", which most auto companies do anyway

All the EV in America should use the same charging plug, just like all mobile device switch to micro USB 3.

sounds like jay monahan (head of pro golfers association) who caved to saudi investment after a year of screaming and ranting about how evil they are.

Hmm. No, the default plug standard is now USB C. Not micro USB.
