Stock down $13-14 so far today. And the SpaceX rocket exploded. Bad day for Musk.
There's always going to be bad days and failures. Good opportunity to pick up some TSLA. It could be worse. My company's stock, which hit $35 at one point is now in the $5 range, and we've exceeded all our goals

Noticed TSLA was down in pre market so bought more. Musk is focused on getting more cars on the street as it helps him with autonomy, so he is willingly lowering the price in order to drive more sales. Took a minor down turn in profit margin but more sales = good for Tesla long term (plus there will be opportunity for add on software sales to those customers). CyberTruck coming soon, other models on the horizon, I think the future is very bright for Tesla stock. I hold this one with such long term intentions that I may as well forget that I even own it. Down days give me the opportunity to lower my cost basis.
Because it made it off the launchpad. It wasn't a perfect launch, but getting it in the air was a huge success in and of itself. They're going to get a ton of useful data from today's launch just like when they failed at landing the boosters in earlier products. Now it's newsworthy if the boosters don't land properly.
Back on Tesla. Even if you don't take into account autonomy, Tesla is putting the squeeze on the other manufacturers that don't have those same level of margins to play with.

absolutely, the goal was reportedly to clear the tower, which it did, so everything else was a bonus. Disappointing it didn't get further, but it's the first step on a long journey and another rocket is already getting prepped for launch in a few months.
depends on definition of long term. in the long term we'll all be dead too, and if we have a major recession/depression, it could be a decade or more before it recovers.
disclaimer: i do have some tsla, but not sure if i want to buy more due to macroeconomic reasons.
$108 was the near term bottom for it a few months ago - let's see how low it drifts toward $108. But clearly with the pickup and the Model2 coming online, plus the model3 refresh, things should improve over the next 18 months.

that doesn't factor in macroeconomic issues... it won't improve if people can't afford cars (or to eat). not saying it's going to happen, but it could.
