This looks very interesting if they can make it very true to history.

Just imagine a follow on to this, Lamborghini v. Ferrari With the history of how Lamborghini came into being, with an extended cut of how these beautiful car designs came to fruition.

All this is great, ONLY IF the story line is true to history books.

I’m sure it’ll be Hollywood embellished.

Looks like it will be good hopefully they kept it close to the actual story. Good to see non fast and furious car movies coming out.

Since you've had experience at Ford dealerships, did you ever get a chance test-drive a Ford GT? I've seen them at auto shows, of course, and in showrooms, but never actually drove one. What dealers wanted for them on the mark-ups, though (and you probably know this, from your experience) was often nothing short of ludicrous. I remember, some years ago, shopping with one of my co-workers at a joint Ford/Hyundai dealership in Annapolis, MD (not for a GT, of course). They had a new GT in the showroom, marked up almost 100% over list. I don't remember the exact amount on the second sticker, but it was at least 200K.

I've never worked for Ford, Mr. Marshall. I simply grew up in a Ford family and am biased towards them when compared to say a Chevy

Sadly no I have never driven a Ford GT. Sat in several though. Love all three generations. The original GT40s, the 2004-2006 GT, and the current GT. If I could choose any old car to add to my garage before 1975, it would be a GT40, despite my love for older Aston's like the DB4GT.

OK...sorry if there was any misunderstanding. I thought, from the wording of some of your earlier posts, that you worked at Ford at one time. Apparently not.

Yes, I remember Ford's initial victories over Ferrari in the mid-late 1960s, though I was not yet old enough to drive. It's where the term "First on Race Day" for Ford's terminology was used. Ford also had some NASCAR victories, especially after Chevy and Pontiac pulled out of NASCAR in the mid-60s, and they were facing only the Plymouths and Dodges.

This looks to be a very interesting story. The title is crappy but oh well, seems to be a story about Ford and maybe a little bit of Ferarri in it.

Seems???

Henry Ford II and Enzo Ferrari made a deal for Ford to buy Ferrari. Enzo backed out out and this left Henry Ford II bitter. He vowed to build a car that would crush Ferrari on the world's biggest stage, the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The original GT40 came out in 1964 but was plagued by issues including being unstable. In the 1964 Le Mans Ferrari once again dominated with a 1-2-3 finish. Ford then brought on the legendary Caroll Shelby onboard, but the engines this time cost Ford the 1965 Le Mans and again Ferrari won. But then 1966 came around. Shelby and his team worked their magic and won Daytona and Sebring, encouraging signs that set up another rematch at Le Mans. The GT40 and Ford took a dominating 1-2-3 finish and America won it's first ever victory at Le Mans. Ford also won the 1967, 1968, and 1969 24 Hours of Le Mans. Amazing feat for Ford and America.

Well Bale is one of the best actors, so the movie should be good. Also nice to see a movie about cars that's not fast and furious.

Everything made Henry Ford II bitter LOL. He was one of the most difficult people to please (and get along with) to ever preside over an auto corporation. If you haven't read Lee Iacocca's book, I highly recommend it. He describes exactly what he went through with Henry, day by day, for decades.

To think Ford just let the those victories fall by the way side without capitalizing by continuing to have multiple revered supercars over the course of time under it's Blue oval, alongside it's Eco-Boost-Econo-Boxes, to keep the Blue Oval as a supercar builder and ultimate winner.
