2019 4series for $30k - price makes no sense.
Is it salvaged? What options if any does it have?

When I first test drove a '13 IS250, I loved it and that's what got me back into a lexus after a hiatus (06-'12).
In the RC, I definitely feel like I would like to take it around town and cruise around. But it is older so maintenance would be due on some parts like another user mentioned.

The BMW I get the ‘good daily driver and practicality’ feel to it. And its newer. But I will still have to talk to the dealer on why they priced it the way they did. They also have a couple of these in stock so its giving me the impression they were loaners.

It makes a ton of sense, its a loaner/executive demo being sold.

  • 2015 Lexus RC 300/350 F-Sport
From my searches around my area, they are priced about the same at around $30,000 but the BMW only sits at around 8000 miles while the Lexus is at 30,000. And the BMW is from an actual BMW dealership as opposed to the Lexus which is from a used car dealership.

As a past Lexus owner (2015 Lexus IS) (2017 Lexus LX570) I grew bored with the brand and hoped that the RC would change my mind.

I am also open to leasing new but feel that since I can buy used, most of the depreciation wont be on me.

Im reaching out in hopes of hearing some of your opinions. Im happy to see how this discussion goes! Thanks!
Im confused here so bare with me, if you are bored with the Lexus brand, why pick up more boring (at least the choice you stated)? I`d say since you are getting an itch to drive something fun, lease something short term, with power, performance from one of the Performance off shoots of BMW, Audi, or Mercedes. While the 430i is from BMW, I`d hard pass on it, as it has a normal i4, and dare I say, safe, poser mobile. If you want to push the needle, get into at least a B58 or N55 motor BMW. IF you still want something Lexus, I`d consider the 15 RCF as those things are not a lot of money for a lot of car.

Leasing anything amazing to drive is the best during March, so get on it.

heck of a deal on the bmw if it checks out. brands aside, why would you want a 2015 with 30k mi. vs a 2019 with 8k mi.? both cars will be fun to drive. the 4GC is obviously more practical, but the rc wins on looks to most people most likely.

probably can't go wrong with either.

If you want an F3X BMW, I'd definitely snap this up.

Even if it's not a CPO, it should still have most of the original factory warranty. I forget where BMW stands with non-new sales as to free maintenance, but you should ask the dealer if this car qualifies for the 3/36 included service program.

That's the important thing. Find out where the car has been for the past year. You've got a base model with the convenience package so it does include some decent stuff but by no means are these mid-level and beyond. So it looks like BSM and DRCC with collision mitigation might be included. Rear cross traffic alert, is that included? Not likely to have any sort of LKA option but maybe you don't need that. Also you get the basics with heated front seats but no cooled seats.

It's very likely that the 2.0T's hp number is understated, but you would have to drive it to get a feel for it. Just depends, what's important for you? Don't expect BMW "wired to the road" steering feel, but this series is no slouch.

What's the delta on the G series? The F series has zero feel and is just as numb as a RX350. Drive it. Or is the deciding factor $30,000. Let's say a G is $42,000. imho that $12k is money well, well, spent. The difference between something that drives well (supposedly from every source online), and something that does not.

I saw one yesterday at my dealer's service dept. Base xDrive was $42K; with a standard set of options (not fully loaded), plus M-Sport Pkg, it was $53k. Good luck finding a base, stripped down G20 on a dealer lot.

Is better steering feel worth $23k?

I will say, the interior of the G20 is light years ahead of the F30.

LOL no, not 23k....I think the F series is very much a contributor to the demise of the BMW nameplate. The way I would skin this cat is F no good. G good, not worth 23k more. Work harder and try to get at least 12-15k out of thin air (bonus etc.). If so, then reconsider if G is worth 8-11k more (I think so). If no bonus that can be earmarked for the car, then no buy F or G. Nothing says "have to buy a F." I hate buying things because the price "seems good" but the actual product is "no good."

All I can say is for those who have not driven a 2012-2018 BMW F car (and I am excluding the M's), drive them. The steering is so bad, you will not want the car. If you do want the car, then you will not want any BMW made prior to 2012, and apparently you won't like 2019+ either.
