Great feature. I'm sure other BEVs will get a similar thing.

It sends you a notification when the battery reaches 20%. For purposes of discussion, let's just call that 60 miles. I would venture to guess that in the vast majority of cases where this feature would be used, the car is within 15-20 miles of home, and almost certainly within 60 miles of a charging station.

 

Dog mode seems cool. I don't think I'd leave a child...
System could get turned off for a variety of reasons turning into a life threatening situation. Notifications aren't always received etc.
Not everyone will notice the screen that shows the temp. Wouldn't surprise me if someone breaks a window to "save" the pet. That happens around here from time to time.

Same but different:
After experiencing 2+ feet of snow in the last 2 weeks I wondered if electric vehicles would be able to keep themselves defrosted overnight. Especially while plugged in.
It's one thing to defrost for a few minutes in the morning, but when there's over a foot on the car from overnight, it would be nicer if it had been preventing the accumulation all night. Don't know how much carbon juice that would use or if it's worth it. Was just curious.

 

I was thinking the same thing, although Tesla batteries are (arguably) the best ones in the business.
