first off, i cannot remote start my g90 unless the doors are locked... it may do it if they're not, can't remember. my jeep certainly did. so if it's locked, no one is just getting inside and driving off.
second, the car should not be able to be driven off without the key inside the vehicle.
third, why would the car shut off when opening the door IF it's the driver that has approached the car, with the key in proximity?

this is just an unbelievably stupid design.

I'm sure you're just referring to a vehicle started remotely. But, you would be amazed by the number of people that start their vehicles normally, then walk away with the fob thinking no one can drive it off.

I just don't care for it. The sloping lines in the back look weird, the front overhang is too long, headlights are too squinty. Spending a few hours with them I really prefer the previous car (in post 2016 refresh form)

I've seen a few around and I agree. I find the styling to be a massive improvement over the outgoing model.

The improved interior materials, updated safety and infotainment (CarPlay, Alexa), better MPGs, and stronger V6 and Hybrid, and big trunk even in hybrid form are some of it's best improvements
