Default Audi E-Tron GT Concept

Here's what Audi is making to fight Tesla

Since Audi is still calling these full exterior shots teasers, there's no new information as far as specs and features go. We learned yesterday that it would have a 100 kWh battery pack, 248-mile range and acceleration to 60 mph in under 4 seconds. It's also going to be built on the Porsche Taycan platform.

Now that we can basically see what the car looks like, it's safe to say we like the styling. This "concept car" looks a lot like the new A7. Differences are minor, but this E-Tron GT is a tad shorter in both length and height. The rear end is a bit stubbier, and the whole car seems to hunker down closer to the ground. It's a sportier look, which is probably a good move, since Audi's first long-range electric is going to resemble a pretty normal crossover. Both the headlights and taillights are exotic shapes — these and the wheels are the most concept-like parts on the vehicle now, it seems.

Toyota is really far away from BEV. Shows money can't buy you everything even if you had electrification advantage for over a decade against competitors.
Actually this shows how conventional hybrid system is not that related to neither PHEV or BEV technologies.

Ooohh... that has some good lines. I've loved everything Audi has put out in the last 2 years. I'd give an Audi EV serious consideration against Tesla for my next car.

I think it debuts today at the LA auto show so we should see it without the camo very soon- perhaps this evening?

So we have the e-Tron GT, Taycan, and Tesla S. Wonder if BMW or Mercedes will be next.

I like it. interior & exterior looks much better than the Model S. The question is how much it will cost to get one.

Looks like most if not all of the grille serves no function for looks only. Gotta have that branding I guess. Design is quite busy.

Environmentally friendly plant based seat fiber?

boasting 590 horsepower, an electric range of 248 miles, and a recharge time to 80 percent capacity in just 20 minutes with the same 800-volt system from the upcoming Porsche Taycan.

I love the looks inside and out. Don't feel like waiting over 2 years to see these on the road. Not seeing any specs to show the size of this to know if it competes with Model S or Model 3, but I'm certainly intrigued by this. The range is still about 100 miles lower than Tesla's 100D range, but other than that, this is the most realistic competitor to Tesla I've seen.

i wonder how you figured this out, because Audi presented 2021 model 2.5 years too soon?

And also, all these European future electric vehicles have much poorer range than Tesla for same battery size. Or how they advertise 20 minute charging that does not exist.

In the meantime, these advanced germans are putting ads in Germany that diesels are ecological and are guaranteeing their customers that they will be able to drive their diesels in the cities or else they will buy them back.

So while they advertise 2021 model in 2018, they are putting a lot of money in selling diesels, their bread and butter (and their phev sales in Europe are abysmal to not existing, in fact they recently stopped sales on most of their phevs due to WLTP).

On the other hand, backwards Toyota will sell 1.6m-1.7m hybrids this year and 2m next, and 98% of Lexus cars in Western Europe are hybrid... so backward. They should sell dreams of EVs and diesels under the table .

Looks a little like an Audi version of a Tesla Model S. Which is a good thing since the Model S looks really good. Difference, I assume, would be that the Audi will have much better build quality and a lot nice interior materials.
