Why waste time and company funds on a RWD Continental if nobody is even buying the FWD/AWD one? It's also not just not simply a matter of FWD vs. RWD.....Cadillac can't sell the RWD CT6, either. Originally Posted by UDel

Whatever they do, they can't call it a Mustang because that is an iconic sub-brand of its own within FoMoCo. They'd be watering down the Mustang image significantly. It's interesting just how much mileage Chrysler has gotten out of its Charger and 300 sedans, so it shows you there is a demand among buyer for something rwd/awd with V6/V8 options.
What they would call it would be an interesting "what if" exercise. Torino maybe. Lincoln Zephyr on the luxury brand side.

It sells okay, main reason it is not selling better is it is priced too high for a car based on a FWD Taurus and can't compete fully with other RWD flagships. With the Navigator getting good praise for its interior it would be a good opportunity to come out with a RWD Continental and Mark 7 or 8 coupe with as good a interior as the Navigator while Lincoln is getting some attention.Originally Posted by mmarshall
