I don't even bother looking at any Jaguar. Land Rover dealers sell them along side Land Rover line up.

What good is choosing a 4runner to feel more masculine or better when there are way better cars out there that are more comfortable and for cheaper. Sorry man, you dont make any sense. If you want family use buy a rav4 if you want actual usage and practicality for wht teh vehicle was intended to do, buy a 4runner and go offroading and to spots where you can take the car to go hiking and camping. Front solid axle, diff locks are available too, you just have to upgrade to the landcruiser for all of that. Just seems to me people make excuses to buy what they want instead of thinking logically and rationally about a car purchase. Its not my money though.
A TRD Pro is a $50,000 truck. Not a $35k truck. So why even bring that up and mention that it comes with a rear locker? It's irrelevant to this discussion about a bare-bones model T4R.

What Land Cruiser has solid axles? The last one that had that was an 80 series which got discontinued in 97, it's a niche vehicle completely unsuitable for on-road driving by today's standards.

Just stop. You lost any and all credibility with your post buddy. I want to post some more but just not worth my time. Have a good night champ!

Hmmm, I just shredded a guy who claimed Rolex watch is the best in the world. I nailed him rubbing his nose on the ground. True knowledge is priceless.

I sold my 2015 4 runner Limited because it didn't have blind spot monitor, pr tailgate, adaptive cruise control, emergency automatic braking, 8 inch nav screen, reasonable turning radius and the list goes on. It only had a 5 speed transmission also. It was $45k top of the line with all options you can get even to this day. My Grand Cherokee has all these and a lot more for very similar money. The 4 Runner is very cool but that's about it. My wife misses it because she felt badass in it.

I admit those features are a given, but there isn't anything that says they should be mandatory imho. They are part of a lazification of all of us. When I had the Jeep Wrangler in Richmond VA, I left the headlights on the entire time I was in a restaurant, "assuming" they were auto. To be honest I don't even remember if they were simply manual, or I had them on manual, but at any rate, the lights were on when I came back. It was like a monsoon that week, the hotel lost power, internet, and I couldn't watch the Eagles hahahahahahah must have been a thu nite. Can't put that kind of usage on the co. hotspot. (are those first world problems or what, but that's a first to be in a hotel with no electricity)

but for me mandatory are oil temp gauge, rain sense wiper, adaptive headlights (I prefer xenon but likely would do LED nowadays), some sort of smart key, fixed calipers all 4 (this is almost undoable today, I think even the A8 and S550 do not in rear). If I had to buy a used car to get the features I would...

I know I have said this before but my IS350 F-Sport’s MSRP was $51k and it didn’t have memory seats and it wasn’t even an option in 2016 but now is. I didn’t think it was a deal killer when I leased it but now I hate the car because of this lack of feature. For a $50k car I find it ridiculous to not have this.

Both my cousin's and aunt's former M3's had manual seats. The aunt's M3 had no air conditioning, no radio, no sunroof, and a huge wing that obstructed rearward vision. I have never done that, "Well the 2019 Elantra has it, my car cost $75k and doesn't have it, blah blah blah"

Just get what you want, and if a car does not offer it, and you have to have, get a different car.

What you are describing is totally different, sounds like they had a hardcore version of the M3. What year were they?

My IS has every feature available, power seats, sunroof, radar cruise, blind spot monitor, etc. so not really apples to apples. It had everything I wanted except memory seats so I thought it wasn’t a big deal. I looked at a ton of other competitors and all were missing something I wanted so I had to give up something. Not like I didn’t consider other cars like you assumed.

When I was a kid all those bells and whistles today's drivers are used to and enjoy were none. Crank open/close windows, key to open door, manual steering, no power brake, manual shift, no auto head light,
even I remember hand cranked wind shield wipers, etc., etc. Then we used to work on those cars to fix this and that. getting our hands dirty and knuckles busted. Often we push started our cars forgetting to turn off
dead lights. Today's new generation drivers are sort of spoiled. IMO, people are getting lazy and dumb. One thing kids today excel is keyboarding. Look at them sending text on their smart phone. When they graduate from a college they can't even write their own resume often times. Did we ever had a resume writng class when we were in school? '溫古而知新' I just turned 78 last month. Today family and friends are throwing a belated party for me. to remind me I am becoming an old fart. And started snowing just now. No worry I have winter tires on my SUV.

No not you in particular, I just meant in general....say an Elantra had something (I remember hearing the very base Kia with manual had a great infotainment or something, better than more expensive cars), and a high end car doesn't have it, only means to the buyer that maybe they shouldn't get such car....

my aunt's was a 1995 if I'm not mistaken, it had a checkerboard on the hood and a big wing. She got it brand new in 1996 because nobody would pay its ridiculous list price which may have been $38k, so it was discounted. She sold it for a 2003 M3 SMG which imho was a total mistake, the lightweight '95 can sell for 90k+ today....

Is not getting one's hand dirty a sign of prosperity, or laziness? My brother cannot change a tire, and couldn't be bothered to learn. He cannot swim, I suppose he can hire some people to swim for him (that is the mentality, buy buy buy).

Personally I like working on cars but can't seem to find the time, and our garage is tiny. I need to bleed 2 cars' brakes and might try to sneak it in today when my wife goes out (have to watch our 4 y.o. too). At any rate the Lexus has a flat so I have to pull the wheel regardless, so why not bleed the brakes and take the other 3 off?

Oh, and in the office, if you don't game (I am talking full blown responsible 35 y.o. SVPs gaming), you have to keep a low profile or people will suspect you are old LOL (I guess physically I look young as someone asked me how old, guessing, 31? thanks for the compliment!)

edit P.S. enjoy your party, it's great that people want to celebrate with you

Ah the M3 Lightweight, awesome car. I remember seeing one in a showroom new back in the day and they couldn’t move it. They command big $$$ today, more than $90k with low miles.

Now I won't even buy a car again with out brake hold. My LS460 hooked me on that. When I get in another car I'm mortified that I have to hold my foot on the brake pedal at a red light. That's the one thing my wife's Jeep Grand Cherokee doesn't have.

Is this a joke? i see plenty of guys/gals driving around in vehicles heavily modified for off road use in South Florida that does not go off-roading. You'd be surprised how many people buy an off road vehicle while having no intention of taking it off-road. Some do it for the looks or the image it exudes.
