i don't like the hood being higher at the windshield than the side windows but other than that... it's pretty meh.

I'm curious what they did to the laser lights to get them to the US. Or maybe there's a loophole here by only using them on the high beams. Not sure.

Which I think its quite strange because Audi's Matrix Laser headlights are illegal in the US.
Does anyone know if there is a loophole BMW exploited? Or are webpages just mistaken and assuming we will get it?

BMW 3 Series G20 new tech/features list:
Powerboost
No manual (8Spd Sports Automatic Only)
Lift related dampers
iDrive 6.0 (based)
iDrive 7.0 (optional w/ the bigger screen and digital gauges)
BMW's new digital display gauges
10 inch center screen (only with digital gauges package) Other wise it'll be 8 inch.
Electric e-brake
Optional adaptive LED lights with laser technology. (Which offers a "non-dazzling" high beam.) I guess the loophole is that the laser tech is only in high beam form?
"Hey BMW" AI voice system
Power fold mirrors
Power open/close trunk
Memory reverse (can remember your path and reverse about 50 feet?)
Motion gestures (can use your hand in circle path to turn up or down the music)
If anybody has any information regarding features/tech on the new 2019, feel free to add.
Side note: In my personal opinion, I welcome most of the tech upgrades on the new 3 Series BMW. However - I think a few of them are pretty gimmicky...
1) I think "Motion gestures" to change volume is a lot more work and more like "party-trick" to show off. In my opinion, it takes more energy to move your hand in a circle, wait for the car to see what you are doing and then it'll adjust volume settings. Its so much easier to push a bottom for volume on your steering wheel.
2) Memory reverse, where the BMW remembers your steering input and reverse/steers for you in reverse for about 50 feet. Honestly - how often will this be used? I can see it being good for tight garages. But nothing else, really.
3) Sort of wish BMW did business with Amazon and use Amazon Alexa. Its much better AI system and tons of people already have Alexa home. Makes more sense than "Hey BMW." But - BMW rather offer their own thing like - "Hey Mercedes"

Having said that, this new 3 series might very well be my next car. I’ve been waiting patiently, looking for a reason to buy new again but nothing on the market has piqued my interest beyond the all new Audi A6 and now this new G20. I was hoping Lexus would design a interior I could live with but nothing at my Lexus dealership inspires me. I hate to say goodbye to Lexus but my old GS will need replacing soon and this new crop of models from BMW and Audi are very convincing.

The onboard “personal assistant” in this thing is embarrassing. My 10 yr old Lexus responds quicker to voice commands lol...

As I mentioned in my previous comment, BMW should have did what Lexus did and offer Amazon Alexa which is the best AI assistant in the game right now. On top of that - people who use Alexa can connect it with their homes as well. In my opinion, Amazon Alexa or "Hi BMW" isn't a deal-breaker feature but if we are talking AI, Amazon Alexa would be a better choice.
For me personally - if I were to choose between the G20 330i or the Audi A4, I'll go with the Audi A4. I believe the Audi A4 is better built, gives you majority of the features the G20 has, and you save tons of money.

The laser headlights are definitely a cool looking touch. I read these laser lights only work on the high beam function. The BMW LED high beams are equipped with laser technology to enhance the LED high beams rather than it being "full laser". I think that's the loophole that made it legal in the US-Spec models.
Side note: When I say "enhance", what I mean by that is: LED high beams equipped with laser technology will be able to have a longer high beam range. It will also be able to use lasers to isolate your own lights to offer a "non-dazzling" light to the cars coming towards you or in front of you. Also - it can detect animals/humans on the side of the road and use the laser to increase the light beam towards the animal/human to show better visibility.
