Hyundai revamps the test drive
hah I love it!
*using 'you' as a generality
Talk about trading places. Rep comes to your home, you offer them a beverage/snack etc.. sit down in the kitchen and begin negotiations. Sales rep offers a price, you say hold on let me talk to the boss, you walk to the bedroom and talk to the wife. You come back and say we have a deal, shake their hand, and sign the paperwork

in essence this is close to how it worked. However since the G80 Sport comes fully loaded there was no options to choose from, and the price was negotiated via email and phone during the 4 days it took them to locate and transport the vehicle I wanted.
Since I was paying cash I gave them my OTD price, and they met it, I had the invoice price on the car and I offered them a fair deal which they accepted. So when they came to the house the paperwork was all filled in with the price we agreed on.
The rep then spent 2ish hours going over all the functions and technology of the car, again all at my home.
Now today is my first experience with the concierge service, I called last Thursday and booked an appointment for them to pick up the car from my office at 10am. At which point they will drop off a loaner, take my car for it’s 3,500 mile first service, then return my car when complete.
The dealership I am using for this service is walking distance from my office and it is one of the higher end Hyundai dealers in Los Angeles, they have a dedicated “Genesis” service area and 4 on site certified Genesis techs, so it isn’t ‘just a Hyundai’ dealer that services Genesis cars, which is the biggest complaint amongst Genesis owners.
It it will be interesting to see how this part of it plays out. But I’ve already walked into this dealer for service when I had to get my smart card key cut and programmed, and as a walk in they took my car and did the work immediately, i wasn’t made to wait or get a loaner, I was in and out within 30 minutes.
