Default Hybrid options coming to F?

That's what Yoshihiro Sawa's comments here seem to suggest, and given how hybrids are being increasing optimized for performance, I'd think this is already in the mail. I like the idea of an LC with 600 horse and motors at the wheels... How long do you think it'll be before we see an electrified F?

The current IS hybrid should have been a U.S. offering. Many others have already released sporty hybrids, including Toyota (Camry SE) and they have been selling well. The CT could have easily been a wildly successful entry level sporty hybrid, but Lexus played it weak and it died on the vine. This seems like another "late to the game" situation.

Lexus has been testing the RCF at nurburing recently. So they could be working on something new.

I'd be down for F's with hybrid power, especially if it's hybrid AWD. Keeping mechanical RWD, and putting an electric motor in the front.

My IS300h as sold in Europe and Asia is unlikely to suit US tastes. The powertrain is too antiquated in terms of performance and driving feel. And the excellent rwd handling and ride will only serve to highlight the performance limitations (its slower than a Camry hybrid), and killjoy eCVT (like a Prius). It is, however, very smooth in lower rpms, is quite economical, but does sound like a food blender when accelerating hard, and quite easily runs out of battery charge if pushing hard for extended periods, losing the boost from the electric motors. Mine has been quite reliable though it’s already had its hybrid battery replaced under warranty.

Yeah, this could be a great set up, especially if there was an option to disengage the front, like the new M5. That way you could still do some drifting!
