Default tire problem

I bought a 2014 Lexus ES350 used with approximately 24,000 miles on it .The dealer put new tires on it when I bought it.I took it in for regular check up and had tires rotated, but after putting about 20,000 miles on the tires I found out they were worn VERY bad on the inside of the front tires, to the point that the rubber was falling off. I took it to a tire shop and was told that it had the wrong size tires on it, but they ould put some parts on it and be able to put the correct tires on it, they said the tires that wore out were put on it to make it handle better ????, any way I had the parts put on it and new Michelin tires put on it and now with less than 3,000 miles I am told by a mechanic that the tires are already starting to cup, what can be done to correct the problem ? I am at a loss.

cupping? .... suspension, alignment, balance.

I don't think slightly fatter or taller tires will result in tire wear like that.

If the "cupping" is flat spots in a diagonal pattern across the tread it's usually caused by weak Shocks/struts
