Yes, it is. All Toyotas I have owned, from the small, late-1980s Toyota Corolla to my current ES Hybrid have been very nice to drive -- very stable -- even at super-legal speeds on the Canadian highways.

A lot of what's been said (including my experience and seeing BMW ROs compared to Lexus ROs) is anecdotal. But you can search for used car values on Autotrader for objective data.

The cheapest 5 year old, 2013 7 series (all models) with any mileage you can buy are in the 18,000 dollar range and up.
https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/BMW/7+Series/Washington+DC-20001?zip=20001&startYear=2013&numRecords=25&sortBy=derivedpriceASC&firstRecord=0&seriesCodeList=7_SERIES&endYear=2019&makeCodeList=BMW&searchRadius=0

The cheapest 5 year old, 2013 LS 460 with any mileage you can buy are in the 25,000 dollar range and up.
When you search on Autotrader, you may see some "OffLeaseOnly" cars, every one of which has a bad Carfax or history. I block their ads.

Lexus has a strong resale advantage over "the ultimate driving machine".

What does resale have to do with how good a car is?

Im sure LS has better resale than a RollsRoyce too?

LOL at this. Anywhere else on automotive forums, you'd be laughed at and ridiculed for claiming that RX is a premium vehicle.

Using other forums probably isn't the most accurate way to determine this. Just look at this one. I'm sure others will have similar disagreements.

No doubt, forums are full of fanboys who have a hard time seeing anybody else's point of view.

The RX is clearly a premium vehicle.

RX is not even Acura MDX level, and Acura has been the laughing stock of the industry for the past decade or so.

In its base form the X5 and RX share inherently seek the same type of buyer a person who just wants something much more prestigious then a normal Toyota highlander or GM mid size crossover. Platforms aside they provide that. The X5 and the RX totally go their separate ways once you get a buyer who wants more then the prestige and wants to tick more boxes. The X5 can be a sharp sword while driving, while the RX can be a reliable luxury bed. Each vehicle cannot cover both markets, but I doubt anyone wants to sleep on a sword?

LOL, the RX base price is closer to Highlander base price than X5 base price.

Having driven both I just don’t agree at all. MDX and RX are very similar.

Your anti-Lexus bias is showing through here again.

Not anti-Lexus, I don't consider cars like RX, NX, and ES to be real Lexus. I don't have any love for the fwd mini based BMW X1 either, and I've been pretty vocal about it on this forum.

RX and MDX are similar, but at least MDX has a very advanced AWD system, while the RX is basically FWD with AWD option being an afterthought.

Give me a break. Hey I have an idea call up Lexus and educate them on what a real Lexus actually is.

So the cars they sell overwhelmingly the most of aren’t “real Lexuses”? What sense does that make? You just named 3/4 of all the units Lexus sells lol

With the CT200h and the HS250h, they pretty much found out for themselves...and ended up dropping both.

And the CT and HS were not real Lexus models?

Perhaps we need to think of it this way...
