There's a new Nissan "sedans" commercial running in L.A. right now that's showing an Altima driving around with a temporary spare. There's just a quick clip of it going around a corner, but it's there. Trying to research their commercials online and nothing is coming up. I'm thinking the only reason for them throwing on a small rear tire is to make the car look lower to the ground as it's cornering (?). Any other guesses?

I haven't seen the ad, but, from what you describe, it could (?) be an attempt to convince buyers that Nissan uses high-quality temporary spares that are good for more than just a quick limp-home, at snail-speeds, to the nearest tire shop.

Bless your soul Mike for trying to give Nissan the benefit of the doubt. The spare is shown while the car is racing around city streets. I wish what you were saying was the reason, but I think it's Nissan being cheap and a poorly hired ad company.

Not sure if it would be Nissan getting the benefit or the tire company who made the spare.


Nissan has done some questionable ads before. Remember the ones with the dogs? Subaru followed suit with some similar ones.
