Genesis Coupe Concept

Not the best way to spend development money right now. Coupes might have some appeal in other countries, but IMO, Genesis, right now, for the American market, would be better off putting the money into a small SUV/CUV to compliment their larger, upcoming GV80. The only coupes here in America that really seem to have a solid market are the traditional pony cars......Mustang, Camaro, and Challenger.

Waste of time and money compared to the cuv/suv opportunity

This is supposed to be an enthusiast site and folks are clamoring for a CUV over a fun car.
Might as well be a Buick forum.
I say bring on the fun stuff Hyundai.
The previous Genesis coupe was a cool little car but not aligned with the upscale direction being taken for the Genesis brand.
Now they can have something juicy and lined in leather on the show room floors.

I am shocked members of a enthusiast site are complaining about a nice coupe concept/future car from a upstart luxury brand and want them to just focus on a boring dull dumpy CUV in a sea of boring dull dumpy CUV's already on the market.

How many people buy SUVs/CUVs today, and, outside of the American pony cars, how many buy coupes...especially in the American market? Like it or not, it simply a matter of numbers.

If this is indeed the new Genesis coupe, it would be on the G70 platform thus not a great deal of development time or cost. This body style certainly screams "look at me" something Genesis really needs. My guess is that the fancy doors would not make it to production, but the rest could be close.

A well rounded company covers all their bases by offering a vehicle in all categories. This is a wise move, and secures a healthy future when trends quickly change. But they also need to nail the SUV craze, and fast. Get on it Hyundai and keep giving us fresh, new products across the board.
