But yeah, my main question is, if the GS does get new engines, would the 2GR-FKS continue on in some capacity, considering it was recently added?

I do not think the 2GR-FKS will continue on in the GS. They don't need to make a return on investment on that engine in the GS anyway. It'll be paid for by the Tacoma, Highlander, Camry, IS300/IS350, RX350/450h, Sienna, etc.
At what price? Although the E class and 5 series have available turbo 6's, the volume is still with the 4 cyl engines.
I'm another who believes that there will be no new GS. I do believe that the IS needs to be slightly larger to compete with the C class, A4, and 3 series so that would make it nearly the size of the current GS.
To me it's about re-establishing Lexus in the 5 and E space.
The GS with the TT V6 would be a delightful car, and the increased power would differentiate it against the ES. Not a big volume situation, but in my mind many GS buyers will want a state of the art mill under the hood and will pony up some premium above the 350 pricing to get the 400 ponies.
I would be interested in a new GS if it came with the v6tt and awd from the LS500. Especially if the GSf was the v8tt ... unless the GSf came in awd, then it would be a tough decision between the 2. Do the most of the cars the GSf competes with option with awd?
A quick google about the Toyota Crown didn't seem to have any information applicable to the next gen GS?

From the other thread (quoted below https://www.clublexus.com/forums/car...smissions.html), about the announcement of Toyota's new TNGA engines and transmissions, we can see that there is one new (as yet unannounced) engine between the 2018 Camry's new 2.5-litre 4-cylinder engine and the 2018 Lexus LS's new 3.5-litre TT V6 (perhaps a new V6 engine or turbo-4 engine), and 2 (as yet unannounced, more powerful) engines to the left of the TT V6 (perhaps higher displacement V6 or V8 engines).
Any of these new engines could theoretically go into the next-gen GS (and there is a model / project number assigned so it seems that there is a new GS coming).
