Tesla Model 3s commanding surprisingly small premium on new/used market
The first Tesla Model 3s are coming on the market. One thing that surprised me was the selling prices so far. Seems Toyota doesn't have anything to worry about for a while. Checking the listings on Autotrader, you see a lot of dreaming at 85,000 dollars, and a really optimistic guy at 102,000, but checking the Sold Prices on eBay shows prices in upper 50s, which isn't far off the actual sticker price. Certainly not worth the hassle for scalpers. I believe Tesla is here to stay and would consider their vehicles at a later stage, but I would have expected a premium - anything - for these first units. There was supposed to be over half a million reservations at one point.
for the price the interior looks cheap, even cheaper than a GM or Chrysler if that is even possible.
also I thought this was supposed to be the $35K everybody electric car.. For $50K - $60K there are far better options out there in both Electric and Hybrid.. unless you want to pay $50K for an ipad with wheels.

Sit in one, and you'll find some of the materials are atrocious for the price. Very disappointing considering they peg themselves 'Premium' in that regard. The powertrain though and tech and definitely up to snuff.

no need to sit in one, I have the same feeling about the Model S, which I have driven multiple times,. the interior feels cheap, and this is from a guy that owned nothing but GM, Ford, and Chrysler between 1982 and 2015 when I got the Lexus
