Default Bit the bullet and bought another Infiniti...

Stopped by the dealer for some stuff for my FX50 and saw they were advertising some crazy good deals on Q50s. I inquired about the RS 400 AWD and they gave me a price that I (and a broker on the Q50 forums) couldn't believe) and I walked out with 2 Infiniti!

Yes, I'm still a little worried about the VR engine grenading, but hope that Infiniti has fixed their teething issues with it. I've wanted an RS400 for a while, but have been waiting (for reliability data as well as pricing to drop). With the imminent transition to a fwd platform for it (based in the q inspiration concept), I thought it would be a good time to buy one of the last and best examples of the FM platforms.

I had been holding on getting a used ISF as a weekend toy, or waiting for the (forever still born) new Supra, but this should hold me over until Toyota starts figuring out their performance lineup again.

Now to mod it to 500+hp :x

Congratulations

i am one of very few advocates for the Q50 here

My Q50S Hybrid AWD has been fantastic for the 4.5 years ad 63K miles I have had it

Why the black side mirrors? Lexus does the same thing on the F-sport. Not a fan.

I definitely like the way that Infinitis are looking these days, but I cannot keep up with their naming system.

Congrats, unfortunately the Infiniti will never be as solid a car as the IS-F.

BMW 3-Series did the same thing with the "Sport Line" '12-'15; I am not a fan either--but my Sport Line is black, so you can't tell.

I agree with the assessment that the rs400 is not in the league of he IS-Fs and M3s if the world, so fortunately it is priced (and discounted accordingly)! My car was $57k (just sensory package) and got a $10k off! There's also ridiculously low money factors if u lease as well.

And as for the FWD, that's speculation in my part. As the QX inspiritation concept previewed the QX50, I think the Q Inspiration is previewing the next Q50 which is due for a major overhaul in the next few years. Infiniti is finally understanding it's place in the marketplace and going more mainstream with it's FWD place platforms. I'm sure there will be a RWD platform too, but it will probably a lot more premium than what you can get today.

Did you have someone else there with you? Or did you take the RS400 first, and come back for the FX50?

It's quite amazing that Lexus has nothing to offer like this car in their current lineup or for the last several years.

They keep talking about how they are serious about competing with the Germans and how they want Lexus to be taken seriously and perceived as a fun brand, yet most of their cars are all still using that old recycled 3.5L NA V6 that's an unreliable, bad sounding dinosaur of an engine. The new 2.0T motors are nothing to brag about. And the only two F cars they have would have been amazing back in 2010, now they are simply not competitive despite being very nice cars.

Of all these companies, Toyota has the $$ to make something amazing here but they are too focused on slapping on spindle grilles than building a car that enthusiasts would want to pay for.

Try not to hijack the OP's thread and make this another Spindle / old powertrain thread. We have plenty of those threads for you to post in, or to create. Instead try congratulating the OP on his new RS400.
