Agreed, it looks like any other CUV on the VAG MLB platform.

Wow. First spy shots of an Audi with their new styling direction that actually looks good! Excited to see this when it's all said and done but wow, great job, Audi! Based on styling alone, I'd take this over the Bentley & Lamborghini. But don't get me wrong, Bentayga would ultimately be the one I'd rather have in my driveway.

Is this the same concept and styling direction that the LF-1 Limitless is going? Not a boxy three row cuv, but a premium two row with a sloping back?

That looks awful what happened to Audi? I've always considered their cars some of the best styled, conservative and classy not over done or boring. This thing, ugh.

It seems like most car designers really don't know what they are doing. Sure, they can design a car, but the designs don't stick; they get dated way too easily. It feels like a standard does not exist within the design world. Whereas if you are building a car, you'd have to stick to engineering standards. Out of all the Lexus' vehicles, only the 07 GS design really stuck. Kinda hard to explain but the lines of the car don't get old.

As I mentioned in some other thread..... the German auto manufacturers have been in some kind of funk for the past 4 or 5 years. They have put out a series of butt-ugly designs..... this Audi looks horrid to me! And of course their diesel versions will continue to pollute the earth!!!

spoken like an expert on the subject. i believe you're forgetting that it's not about what gets dated or not, it's about designing what designers and companies believe will SELL. if companies/designers think the world wants boring, that's what they'll design.

It feels like a standard does not exist within the design world.
why should there be a standard? it's COMPETITIVE and besides designs conforming to a myriad of difficult global and local regulations, they're out to crush other designs or at least be competitive in their segments.

Out of all the Lexus' vehicles, only the 07 GS design really stuck. Kinda hard to explain but the lines of the car don't get old.
to you. most people have strong feelings about one period of design or another than made a big impression on them. the '07 gs was pretty safe but a nice design, but i personally feel almost all designs don't age very well. even the iconic porsche 911 has really changed a LOT over time, but it's very cleverly managed from gen to gen. but to me older 911's look, well old.

Count me in with a (generally) favorable opinion on the looks. The only thing I'd change on the outside is the body-color grilles....too much monotone. But I generally like the overall shape and platform. It's not over-styled like so many SUVs today, and the D-pillars are nicely-designed, not in weird shapes.

Looks like another clean and favorable body shape from Audi. But they are diving far too deep into Ford frontal styling. This could pass as a Fusion from the front. And the front overhang problem should not be happening by 2019. Regardless, I see this selling very well. Today, Audi means "smart money," once where Lexus used to sit. Today, Lexus is all about making a statement.

Just about as hideous looking as the Bentley Forester, I mean Bentayga.
