One of my favorite parts of the LA show is the gallery of modified cars in the bottom of the hall, and Jake put together a gallery of all the Lexus vehicles on display. Check them out here!
Wonder why they spend the time and money to display modified cars at the L.A. show. Isn't that what SEMA is for? ...and that show isn't very far away.....in Las Vegas.

SEMA was a month ago, these cars were likely also at SEMA and brought to the L.A. show.
I saw some of these at the show. If they're modified mechanically for racing purposes like this one above is (I think?) then I give it a nod but I don't get the use of flashy things like neon lights on a racecar. This one was tucked away in a bookshelf themed area behind the rotating LS500 and LC500 displays facing the main concourse.
There were many modified Lexus models on display in the massive front hall/lobby (pictured in that thread link above) but I really didn't find them as impressive as the production models in the main hall. That special paint on the blue LC500 that uses no actual blue pigmentation in its paint (it just absorbs all wavelengths of light except for the color blue which it reflects back) is an utterly silly and labor intensive showcase but interesting nonetheless. It did look very beautiful in person. Also, I loved that shade of "blue" with the light off-blue interior color. So very late 1980's and very early 1990's Toyota Supra/MR2 of them.

Did you get that from the girl working at Lexus staging area? That is exactly how she phrased the "blue" paint when I talked to her.
