Do you like alcantara /dynamica ? They are more expensive than leather.

Your headliner is alcantara.

Sorry I mispelled, it’s dinamica, it’s similar microfibre suede like material like alcantara.
Alcantara is widely used in high end sports cars. If the LFA you rode in did not have leather seats, then it’s alcantara. The Performance Package version of the LC500 has alcantara seat surfaces.

Alcantara has been around for awhile. It was used in the seats for the 1Gen Lexus IS300, when it debuted in 2001.

ah, google usually gets mispellings but i guess not in this case.

yes it's been a while but i believe there were suede like seats in the LFA.

Yes depending on the interior trim and package. The 430 and 460 both had options of alcantara headliners.

Motorweek first drive confirms a somewhat firmer drive.

This new LS500 might be concerning. Has anyone mentioned that there has been a reduction of almost 2" of front legroom, headroom is down 1'-2" depending on trim compared to the outgoing LS460. The interior is almost identical to the size of the ES350, the ES has a larger interior volume?. Also disappointing to see the drag co roll back to .28...very strange to see the ES350 have a lower drag co of .27

if there's more legroom and headroom in an es than a new ls then that's whacked. form over function i guess.

Yes, pretty strange to see. Its almost like Lexus didn't go all out on this new car.

Yes, I saw in another youtube review they deliberately lower the roof to get the look they want. That's the opposite of what they did to the L430. They wanted it to have more headroom than the S class. And at the time, there are a couple of owners who said that is one of the main reasons they picked the LS430 over the W220 S class.
But for others (including me) who are not as concerned about headroom, the "too tall" LS430 makes it look a little awkward and ungainly. In fact, the exterior appearance of the LS430 is the #1 reason I held off getting an LS at that time.

^^^ The same review also showed the exhaust note sound louder and more sporty than expected.

Trunk is 17 cubic feet. Not sure what the current LS has.

17 cu ft is about the same as my LS.

The size doesn’t really surprise me. Remember, they said they were going for style and driving enjoyment over more practical considerations.
