Venezuela is a classic example of Socialism in action. Starting with Chavez and continuing under Maduro the economy has been shattered and private enterprise crushed. Roving bands are robbing delivery trucks for toilet paper, for heaven's sake, store shelves are empty, patients are dying in hospitals due to a lack of basic medicines.
The people voted for freebies and the siren song of Socialism and they are getting exactly what they voted for. I feel badly for them but they serve as an excellent example to the rest of the world. The USA doesn't want or have to do anything to hasten their demise--they are doing it to themselves.
