How long does a bumper paint job take?
I'm doing a front bumper conversion for my gs, the body shop that I hired to order the bumper and paint was a week behind schedule because they ordered the wrong part initially.
When I called today, they said they would pick up a bumper friday morning, paint it, and have it ready for me before 4pm same day. Are they rushing the job or is it possible for a paint job to be done correctly in just a day?

Depends on what kind of paint used, what kind of paint job you're getting, and (obviously) how backed up the shop is, but, in general, one day for the painting/drying and a couple of hours the next day to re-attach the bumper and hook up necessary hardware (wires, lights, bulbs, cameras/accessories, etc...)
I think nebula gray pearl is two stage.
They want to paint and install same day. It seems rushed and I'm worried it's going to turn out poorly.
Edit: Also, they're charging ~$1100

Again, it depends on the vehicle and the specific cost of its parts/labor, but $1000-1100 sounds about average for a typical bumper-job these days....if it is done well, and not a crappy job.
I'm not a pro but I've had a bumper repainted before, 2 day job for mine. They baked the bumper after painting it for it to dry quicker. I'd hope they're doing the same if it's one day? Mine was atomic silver
Why not just wait until they are done and you be the judge? Just because some job takes long doesn't mean it will be good. Same if a job is done quickly, doesn't mean it's going to be bad.
3 day job on my bumper at a very reputable shop that does a lot of high end vehicles.. They did an excellent job and it's holding up and looks OEM. About $900, and yes, they can bake it for that fast turnaround.

My uncle having managed body shops, I asked him multiple times over the years, how come I can be beside a really nice newer car, like a S550, or a 7 series, and on a sunny day, when the car is totally clean, I can see that it's had bodywork? I mean the color matches perfectly, but the texture/reflection is off? he explained anything is possible, if you want it to look like original, it can be done, but it is not, 95% of the time. This is based on cost, and time. Then he said one time, we're not doing $200k restorations like you're seeing when you watch those shows on TV. That's my .02 on body work. Same thing, is your doctor rushing on your appt. when you go in for a physical? I would say yes.....
He comes back, bad news, QN0 is a tri coat, and the paint would be over $300/pint. Honestly? It doesn't look that great on Nissan. I don't think it looks that great on my wife's SUV. But on my LS430, which is moonlight, I think the pearl is awesome....but it becomes a pita if painting is needed...

I was just quoted $1070 to replace the rear bumper on my RX 450h... someone rear ended me and their insurance will be paying.
As I remember it, that $29.95 offer was back in the 1960s.....and it was even cheaper than that ($19.95) in the 1950s.
He raised his prices later, of course......here is one of his classic come-on ads from the 1980s.
