Yeah, I see a similar result when I try the site I got my touch-up stuff from. Infrared comes with a base coat and mid coat, but Atomic Silver does not.
Notice the Infrared has four pens pictured, but Atomic Silver only gets three.
So now I am intrigued where this myth that it is a five-stage paint comes from. All I can say is, it is a beautiful color and will be missed.
"Its five stage paint" is marketing BS. There is no such thing. Color coat, clear...or color coat, pearl coat, clear. Thats what there is.
There's probably at least some truth to the "five stage" process if you also add the primer-coat and the anti-corrosion layer that goes under the paint itself. Long gone are the days when vehicles are painted like Earl Sheib used to do for $29.95 LOL.

Pretty much par for the course these days. Automakers typically offer a 100K or more rust-through warranty for the original paint-jobs. Like I said above, you can't do that with an Earl Sheib special.
