It goes back to exclusivity (see Lambo thread). People (idiots) will pay more for something in demand when the supply is low and that is what is happening here.

like many people here, i could wait for that bmw depreciation resale value. i agree it's that yolo, shibal biyong, nostalgic, F&F, gotta have it yesterday mindset that'd really pay way more that much over MSRP. i also expected to see these ridiculous scalper prices on eBay, but i guess some dealerships beat them to it.

Yeah, waiting to see if the Zupra will have the BMW depreciation... But if sales are low, can't do much about the lack of supply in the used market.

With the new C8, the only things saving the Zupra from an early sales demise are a manual transmission option (since the C8 won't have one), a turbo four engine (going down market), the GR trim (even more powerful engine?), and actual Toyota reliability. The reliability will be key no matter what.

Haha. Doesn't matter now. The C8 is definitely gonna steal share in that segment. Ferrari and Lamborghini must be feeling some heat too.

If reliability meant anything to sports car buyers, the Supra wouldnt have taken a 25yr hiatus only to be reborn a BMW and the sports car market would have been dominated by the Japanese, except for Mazda and their Rotory disaster.

Well the MKIV used market will stay the same imo, the MKV market will be impacted for sure. As for Ferrari and Lambo only those considering used will look at the C8, anyone buying a new Ferrari or Lambo willing to spend $200K plus wants one of those regardless if the C8 is $60K.

that's why it's important to specify zupra or supra... paying $100,000 for a supra can be totally understandable, paying $100,000 for a zupra is never nor will ever be understandable

No one is cross-shopping a C8 and Ferrari/Lambo.

Exactly those that can easily by an Italian exotic are not considering the C8.
