Power window, works intermittently. Help me diagnose
I'm posting this here for broader audience.
My driver window will roll down and up a couple times like normal.
Then it will suddenly stop, and not move at all, like it ran out of juice.
If I wait a few seconds, I can get it to roll up an inch at a time. (1 inch, out of juice, repeat)
I thought it might be the fuse, so I swapped the 30A fuse with the power seat 30A in the fuse box.
Rolled up and down several times like normal. I thought it was fixed.
Nope, it bogged down again and stopped rolling.
Waited 30 seconds, then tried again, and was able to get the window to roll all the way up.
So, how do I determine if the problem is the switch, regulator assembly frame, or regulator motor?
I'm thinking since it goes up and down normally a few times and sounds normal, the motor should be good? as well as the regulator assembly?
or could it be that both 30A fuses in the box were bad?
Does a worn out fuse make the window and power seat motors sound weak?
Here's a 30 second video of what I mean...

doubt it's the fuse which tends to either work or not work. guessing regulator or failing motor. or maybe the pinch protection is too sensitive if the issue is only going up?

We had the SAME EXACT PROBLEM with the front passenger window in our '04 Highlander. Very annoying. I took the door apart and tested everything, couldn't figure it out. I was afraid it was a bad motor, but a new one was >$300 from Toyota so I didn't want to buy it without knowing for sure. Put up with it for 2 years. Then last fall I did a search on Amazon and darned if they didn't have an aftermarket one for $42. Ordered one up, swapped it out, problem solved.
