Yeah my grandpa has a 2013 F-150 with the 5.0 and every year the family goes up to a lake for a week. He's at that age where he can drive but feels less confident towing the boat. So I get the honor of driving his truck in the caravan while he sits shotgun shouting 'damn turkey' at idiot drivers around us. It's great . But towing feels effortless despite a boat, a boat full of items, and the truck loaded up.

Just bought an SCT tuner and flashed a custom tune from OZ Tuning. Ken Osborne is one of the best names in coyote tuning.

It really woke it up down low. This thing scoots even more than it already did.

What sort of gains do they claim?

TBH they actually don't claim specific numbers. All they claim is better driveability(less torque management reducing throttle input at low RPM's), better shifting, etc.

That said...the general feedback on the online community seems to be that 20 hp is about what you're gonna get. The 5.0 is already at almost 1.3 HP per cubic inch, which is pretty good for an N/A engine. You're not going to gain a ton without adding forced induction.

I've now owned her for 4 years almost 50,000 miles. Still very happy with my purchase.

Some more pics over the last couple years:

Keeping some liquid eggs cold during a power outage while we were getting breakfast ready for a large group.

some nighttime snow play

After a nice detailing. Ignore the mess in my garage.

A little work and a little play

Through God and rachet straps, all things are possible

Little trip down to Phoenix for some solar panels

36 gallons of pain

Bit of exploring. Bounced up a really rough jeep trail to get here only to find out there was a road that any crossover could take.

White snow really brings out the red IMO

Hit a new milestone last night, crossed the 100k mile mark. Had to stop and take a picture. Here's to another 100k. Also realized that my cluster needs to be buffed and cleaned a bit, doesn't look this bad in person.

Still being useful as ever.

I'm in the market for a 2015 to 2020 SuperCab version. Pickings are slim for those with features like a 360 degree camera.

Do you have any complaints about it? How tight is it at 100,000 miles compared to when you bought it?

It still seems pretty tight, hasn't developed any rattles or squeaks since I bought it in 2017. I do wish the driver's seat was a little more durable, but part of that is probably me sliding out since I don't have running boards(and don't want them either). The HVAC system sometimes seems to have a mind of its own when it comes to choosing between recirculated air and outside air. Pushing the recirc button seems to be asking it for permission rather than giving a command, and I have the manual HVAC.

Other than those minor issues? No complaints. I love this thing and intend to keep it for another 100k at least.

Thanks for the feedback, BrettJacks!

This week I found one that suits my needs. Contacted the store on Monday and was advised that a sale was pending. They called today to say the deal fell through so now the ball is in my court.

Awesome thread Brettjacks.

These are the kinds of threads I always enjoy.
I noticed posted up above there were a few years to watch out for so I will keep that in mind.

We had a 3/4 ton van with the Triton V8 and that was a good engine for us-strong and reliable and can pull a trailer no problem but we didn't keep it past 100k miles so I have no testimony about longevity of the engine.

I'm guessing some had problems with that engine from what I read above but sounds like the newer engine in OP's truck is better.

I’m glad to see you still have your truck and it still looks great.

Yeah I was gonna ask, are you a car keeper? I assumed you are.

Glad you've enjoyed your truck, it looks great and of course you got the right engine choice. IDC if an Eco tows better personally.

This is actually the longest I've held onto a vehicle, and almost double the time of the second place contestant.

I got my driver's license in 2006.

First car: 1989 Pontiac Firebird owned from 2006-2009

Second car: 1992 Lexus LS400 owned from 2011-2013. A failed PS pump on this car brought me to Club Lexus.

Third car: 2012 Ford Fusion, owned from 2014-2017. Sold to a family member, they're still driving it.

Fourth vehicle: this truck. Bought it in June 2017, going on 6 years this summer.
