Will Tesla's Model 3 make a dent in Lexus hybrid sales?
The post on the HP has some compelling arguments from some industry folks, but I don't think Tesla will be able to make enough cars to make a real impact. Scaling production seems like it will be real mountain for Tesla to climb. What do you think?

Lexus Test Driver
Hybrids are a halfway measure to complete electrification of passenger vehicles. Actually, we're already seeing young people *not* buying cars because they don't need to. Having a car is no longer a status symbol among the young, it's just an unnecessary expense.
So Lexus could still sell lots of hybrids worldwide in the short term but the future lies with electric autonomous vehicles. Toyota better start making BEVs after their disastrous and pointless foray into hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.

I don't think Lexus is selling that many hybrids based on my recent experience at the dealership. While I had my NX in for service I asked about test drivng a NX hybrid. The salesman looked at me funny and said he didn't think they had any in inventory. He said they don't get much interest here. He did a search and found 2. They were both buried on the third floor inventory level. This is a high volume dealership. They did dig one out and was able to test drive one. I was underwhelmed.
