It's not a question quality, it's a question of panache. Mazda feel way more upscale than Hyundais. The Tucson is built very well but it's clearly an economy vehicle when you sit in one and drive it. The CX-5 feels like a premium vehicle and somebody honestly could mistake it for a Lexus or an Acura or something. Nobody would do that sitting in or driving the Tucson.

Agreed. I like the exterior styling of the Tucson. I just don't care for the interior styling of any Hyundai with the exception of the new Genesis models. The waterfall dash and the blue lighting just aren't my thing. I actually think Kia looks more upscale. And the CX-5 looks more upscale than either. I saw my first one on the road today in Machine Gray and it immediately caught my eye. We just need to go through the lease-end ritual this week with our G37 and the CX-5 will be in our garage.

And totally off topic, but just a quick rant about Infiniti Financial Services. We called them to do the lease inspection and they had 9 cars under our account number! We finally got things sorted out by providing the VIN, which wasn't even under our account number. I've had similar issues over a 15-year period with IFS. Wrong license plate numbers, wrong ownership information, wrong VINs. They are the worst.
