Color did nothing for it though, it was a very dull dark grey. Personally I think lighter, brighter colors work better on this car, shows off the lines better, gives some contrast to the mostly grey grill.

Totally agree.....I don't like the dark colors on this car, either. As with many sedans today, I'm with you.....I'd like to see a brighter and more inclusive range of colors on the Lacrosse (dull colors generally aren't my bag). But, of what IS offered, I think it looks best in Pepperdust...a unique and interesting shade that looks like a mixture of light dove-gray in the shade and a very light gold/bronze in the bright sunlight. Four of the 2017 colors will be dropped for 2018, and four new ones added...but the Pepperdust, fortunately, remains. On many cars, I like the Pearl-White, but I don't think it looks particularly good on the Lacrosse, plus it costs even more than the rest of the metallic/pearl shades. Buick (but not necessarily the rest of GM) has adopted the annoying German/European practice of offering just a few free colors (usually a plain black or white) in non-metallic shades, and charging extra for everything else....anywhere from $395 to $995. I don't particularly like that practice, but......hey, there is no such thing as a perfect car.

Mike,17% off sticker ads on TV on the '17's!
You can probably do even better and/or get some dealer installed accessories.

A lot more Lacrosse for less money than the '18.

In Sunday's paper a dealer was advertising 20% off all LaCrosse's in stock.

Not necessarily. Base prices dropped $1500 on the 2018s...but that is with the new standard 4-cylinder hybrid power train. The 18s will also have a better transmission for the V6. The truth (not opinion, but fact), is that we don't know yet what the final difference (if any) between a 2017 and 2018 will be, especially comparing apples with apples.

Was looking around on Buick.com and some dealer sites. One can get a $41K model for as low as $33K. This offer is almost too good to be true. Especially for a new model. Something tells me the LaCrosse did not meet first year expectations, thus the huge discounts. But the deal is a good one that is for sure. Discounts should probably hit 20% off near July 4th.

Have you had a chance to test-drive a Lacrosse, Jill? If so, what do you think of it? I think you'll be impressed with its refinement, though the smaller, Opel-based Buicks seem to have somewhat more solid hardware. The new ones promise an even smoother, more flexible transmission (and smoother engine start/stop system), than the already refined present one.

This is pretty common on dealer sites around here too and the larger dealers have a good selection too.

What about you, LexBob.....I'll ask the same question I asked Jill. Have you driven a new Lacrosse? If so, what do you think of it?

I haven't driven a LaCrosse but did look at the two they had at the auto show.

What's with all the second-guessing of Mike's decision to order a new 2018 LaCrosse (rather than buy one off the lot, from which he could not find the model he wanted)? The decision has been made, the deposit paid and the order is in. It is too late to change his decision now.

I believe it is time to lock and close this thread.

It's actually not too late, the deposit is refundable I'm sure.

Many of us just hate to see him pay way more than he has to for this car, and his reasoning for doing so is a little out there, which spurs discussion.

In any event, that's forums. If you don't want to deal with people commenting on your decisions you shouldn't post about them in a forum lol
