[QUOTE=mmarshall;9789481]They still are, on an comparability basis (with RR ranking near the bottom of reliability-rankings by brand).....but not on an absolute basis, as the number of problems per vehicle for all brands has lessened in the least ten years.

When you look at that list. The numbers from top to bottom are not that much different in reality. From the top to the bottom is like 1.5 problem differential. Then you have to know what kind of problems. Like with the more recent land rovers, the crappy gps is probably on of those. I honestly don't see any reliability differences between my jaguar,Land Rover and the Lexus. They all have had a few minor issues.

That was my point. Most vehicles, for the most part, regardless of brands have improved, in the last ten years. While there are a still few exceptions here and there, even the most unreliable vehicles today don't exhibit the same kind of unreliability they did in the past.

Definitely on my list of next SUV's to get but I'll let the first year kinks work out for this new model.

I don't know if I'd want to own this vehicle past the factory warranty without an extended warranty. Read that air suspension is known for early failures.

Yes thats why its always good to lease then own if things dont break during your lease. Then again, not many cars break in the first 3 yrs anymore.

Much, much better than the comparably priced evoque.

they managed to do this with dual touchscreens....that means you have to "touch" the screens, which means finger prints galore that people so hate

For me, I love touchscreen.

looks cool. i like the dual screen.
Certainly better than one bigass flat screen like the tesla.

but range rovers break down 1 day after warranty expires, right?

I continue to be underwhelmed by the Velar. It's on the of the few cars that looked better online than in person to me. It has little to no presence on the road imo.

I think its because the styling and proportions were meant to look good on the larger RR Sport. Thats my guess as to why it looks good in pics but not great in real life.

The Velar has the same problem as the current Discovery where the body looks unusually narrow IRL. It's strange seeing how it was the opposite of the F-Pace, which looked incredibly bland in photos but had serious presence in-person, even though it shares the same platform.

Just went on the new model configurator and JLR absolutely gutted the options on the Velar, especially the color choices. Hope you like monochrome.
