To an extent, at least, I disagree. Anybody, if they have the production-capacity for monster-engines, can stick NHRA-power levels into a car.....it doesn't take a magician to do that. Ford, for example, did it with the newest Shelby Mustangs. But, in my book, build-quality, reliability, fit/finish, and good hardware also come into play......and, in those departments, that is where Dodges, though definitely better know than they used to be, are still wanting. It is also noteworthy that Ford sold its highest-powered Shelby Mustangs without a factory-warranty...you essentially bought and drove it at your own risk. That, IMO, tells you something.............

Yes, Mercedes sometimes has that kind of power in its AMG-class of vehicles, combined with quality, refinement, and hardware....but look at what you pay for them. Not many persons would be willing to play that much for a Dodge.

840 bhp if you use 100 octane, 808 if you use pump gas.

Looks like they put a lot of thought into all the components of the engine, trans etc etc.

I'd buy one if I had the money, not sure if I'd give up my ISF for one though.

Could be even sooner as an "off road only" drag car. (Think Cobra Jet Mustang) Dodge has already stated they cannot get EPA certification at anything over about 900hp.

Depends on the track....i know people who have gotten booted off the track during test and tune sessions for not having the proper safety equipment for their e.t. Alot of tracks that are certified don't want to lose that certification by letting someone run without the proper safety equipment

We are in the final stage of the golden age, soon the high gas powered cars will dissapear, replacing by battery ones. I would say for us HP big motor lovers, get one you like while you can, who knows they probably will be future classic demanding big premium.

I feel this way as well, it is an unfortunate truth. However, this has been the feeling the past 15 years and still they keep upping their game. While new models may become scarce it will be many, many years before any of these newer high HP cars become hard to obtain. As fast as some of them are, it is hard to feel any sort of connection or passion with the current electric cars.

I agree 100% about the electric thing...there is just something great about the sound and feel of a traditional motor especially a big cammed v8

I guess they will need to put fake sound and a "shaking" system in the electric cars to make them rumble.
