Yes most likely. The next Legacy has been designed as well though. Hope you are doing fine by the way Hoovey, thanks for up-to-date info as usual.

One thing I would like to say though is, a lot of people do not seem to understand what happened with the 2013 WRX concept shown at NYIAS 2013. Many people wrongfully assume that Subaru watered or dumbed down the concept. By the time concept was even shown, it was too execute such an edict anyway. Development was too far along, unless they delayed the car another 12 months from March 2014 to Spring 2015 circa April 2013 decision making.

Here is how the previous WRX Concept ended up how it did.

In late 2007, after the 3rd generation Impreza went on sale, shortly after development began on the 4th generation model.

By the end of 2009, a final design had been set and then in 2010 development of a now separate performance WRX line began. In very late 2011, the 4th generation went on sale as a 2012 model, just as design work was wrapping up on the new WRX range.

In 2012, design of the WRX was frozen for production. In mid-2012, advanced designers at Subaru began work on a concept car to preview the MY2015 car. At NYIAS 2013 in March 2013, they unveiled the WRX Concept car. Reality is the concept was nothing more than an heavily toned up teaser of the production car, that spiraled out of creative control and looked little like the car it was meant to preview.

In early 2013, Subaru management again basically chose to showcase a concept, that didn't foretell the production design they had finalized a year earlier and knew when the real deal appeared 8 months after the concept at the 2013 L.A. Auto Show, heads would roll in the eyes of the public.

The next generation WRX is about 1.5 years out, meaning the designs have long been finalized. Subaru at this point knows whether they did a good job and are telling the truth with this concept or not. Based on oher recent Subaru examples, I am not convinced.

Excellent points @Carmaker1. I suspect the traditional boxer engines will be available for Impreza/WRX/STI. I'd really be interested to see if they up the STI from its current 305hp rating.
