I saw that. I was very surprised at how much slower it was than the Plaid. The tech seemed okay...nothing to write home about. It was definitely nicer than the Plaid though in terms of luxury.

I don't think Lucid has the cool factor though. Doesn't seem that exciting to drive.

The Plaid and Lucid are competing in different markets, different buyers types. The Plaid buyer is more interested in performance and are willing to compromise proper steering wheels, no turn signal stocks, and other **** Elon thinks they can live without while the Lucid buyer is more interested in cool tech, refinement and comfort, with the additional icing that they have 1000 hp and can beat most cars in straight line if they wanted to. If I was in the market for a luxury EV, it would narrow down to Model X or Lucid, if Lucid was available it would probably win out

I have a Lucid show room about 10 miles from me - actually stopped in there last night after dinner because I noticed they added another car to the floor (they used to just have the Dream - they added the Grand Touring). I continue to waffle on the exterior styling - I don't care for it from certain angles but love it from others. The interior is gorgeous and a nice step up from Tesla Model S IMO. However, the trunk design - which they refer to as a "clam shell" - is pretty terrible. It's very low to the ground and awkward to think about putting stuff in - plus the shape of it is very strange and doesn't seem it would hold much. The trunk would honestly be a reason I would avoid the Lucid.

What's interesting is that based on the Drag Times review, if you look at the dash/gauge cluster area one of the complaints was that because of how wide the screen is, the top part of the steering wheel around 10 and 2 is in the way and you have to look around it to see the little side screens. If any car needs a yoke it's probably this one.

This was so far the best review of a Lucid, actually of EV's in general. IMO I love the way the Lucid looks and the way it was designed. I'm hoping they do well and are able to come out with a lower priced model in the next couple of years

The car looks huge from the videos

HAHA. When there is a small 680km range EV, with a 5 minute fill up, costing $25K I'd get one. I'd get a hydrogen Toyota Corolla or Matrix if they ever make one. ( I have no interest in ever plugging in/out). That said, it was $112 yesterday to fill up my 4R V8

Why would you even consider Hydrogen? Have you seen the complexity of Hydrogen vehicles? There is a 35 percent energy loss just converting hydrogen to power the vehicle. BTW, good luck finding anything new for $25K, you won't even find a basic Honda Civic for that price

Anyways, I think I'd rather just talk Lucid Air in this thread.

I believe the yoke steering wheel is gonna be the future. Toyota has it coming like Tesla. There steering systems are gonna change so they don't require the same level of effort. Base on software and GPS. Then the designs of the interiors are gonna be more trendy inside which would lead to a yoke advantage.
