Might have been the advertising agency, but yes ultimate responsibility would still fall to the corporate marketing department for allowing this laughable attempt at an auto show debut.

Reminds me of that classic episode on the Simpsons...

To be fair, Lexus did do that Clippers themed car too so its not like they don't have a history of doing this. Maybe this is Lexus trying to be quirky. Its bad but not horrible, it will be forgotten in a couple weeks.
Not sure if you guys read Jalopnik, but they just posted about this. Basically it's sums up to, what in the hell is this, who the he'll would buy it, and why did Lexus choose now of all times to do this? Especially considering all the cool stuff other auto makers showed off. Also apparently some people hate Sriracha... Who knew? Lol.
i don't think many seriously thought this was a vehicle for sale.
one could spin this positively and say "at least people are talking about it" but i honestly think something like this weakens lexus hard earned image for classy, luxurious vehicles.

Honestly, the way Lexus trumpeted this "debut" was probably a little too much for a 'refreshed' vehicle that it is still trailing Ze Germans. As a standalone promotional vehicle without all the hype would've been better served, which is what the Clippers RCF was about and that worked fine even if the only people that would want to drive it was the most hardcore Clippers fan.
However, Lexus turned the Sriracha IS into their showcase vehicle when it was nothing more than a sideshow.

Pretty much this ^^^ Lexus messed up by showing this here and making it their showcase essentially. While many others were actually trying, Lexus was goofing around. And that is where the problem lies..

Is Lexus actually producing this? I just thought it's meant to be a cute show car that's all.
At this point, no. But I'm sure if you want to buy an IS, your Lexus dealer is more than willing to throw in a bottle or two (or even case) to seal the deal.
