Default 2017 Audi Q2

Granted, we won't get this in the States, but I wanted to point out the new design language for Audi going on here. Personally, I think it looks cartoonish and doesn't sit well with the rest of the Audis which are elegant but discreet. If this is the new direction Audi is going with the rest of their lineup, I think they will be in trouble.

What were they thinking with the white C pillar?

the r8 set that style trend of other color on the side... i'm not a fan, but maybe it's audi's attempt to be 'wild'

It's weird-looking and the interior is plain jane just like that of the A3.

Audis are getting too monotone and soulless as far as styling goes. The only ones that compel me are the A7, Q5, and R8. After seeing the new Q7 I think the Q5 may take a beating with the bland stick too.

Don't even get me started on the interiors. Sure the quality of materials and build quality are on point, but boy are the new A4/A5 and Q7 insanely teutonic from inside. Looks like it was designed with zero emotion. Sure the 3/4-series are a little aged from inside relative to the competition, but I love the curved flowing lines and dynamicism of the design. It's a lot more inviting and emotional than the Audis.

All I know is it makes me want to draw on it. Maybe Audi has a deal with Expo and a dry erase board

Wish they would offer it here. If I have to get something taller and more space-efficient on my next vehicle purchase because of my long-term knee injury (depending on how well it recovers), that might be something worth looking it. (I'm not terribly impressed with the Buick Encore...it has a great interior, but is too stubby and underpowered)

Audi Q3 could fit the bill

Embarrassing what Audi is doing with the most recent models. Reminds me of what Mercedes did, going for the lowest common denominator to try to bring new customers to the brand.

I thought the Q2 was coming here. Oh well.

Agree, the rear pillar is horrible. Just because something like that worked on the R8, doesn't mean you can throw it high up on an SUV. This vehicle is too small to completely block out an entire pillar. Simple fundamentals.

In Audi's defense, trying to style a mini vehicle without looking cartoonish is a very tough act. A few other manufacturers pull it off, but many do not. I am okay with the overall body shape and proportions, but the rear pillar is just wrong in all ways. And what wrecks the rest of it is the front styling being too truckish. Such styling would have been wise on something bigger like the Q7. But the Q7 got very carlike. Should have been the other way around. Truckish and boxy styling works much better on larger vehicles, while smooth, rounded designs work much better on smaller vehicles. Bad decisions Audi.

Maybe. But the Q2 would likely have a better price....especially with VW/Audi trying to recover their public image after the diesel scandal.

Despite the funky styling I think it looks decent enough to be a big seller. You can get the pillar blacked out which looks worlds better. Europeans love small cars, and the A3, which this is essentially the SUV version of, is a huge hit. I see this doing very well for Audi.

Audi has shown several design "themes" for the Q2, some are piano black, some are like a carbon gray or silver.

It's a bit of design flair, and as others mentioned, trying to pull from R8 imagery.

Rear seat packaging in the Q2 is actually quite good.
