Well I probably don't have the income to afford my current luxury sedan dream car, a Black on brown leather LS460 with the crazy rear seat package.

Anyways, my daily driver is a 1992 Lexus SC300 with the manual transmission, 93k miles, always garaged, always dealer serviced by the previous owner, serviced by me for the past 30Mk miles.

Anyways, what I love about my Lexus is how even 24 years later, I can still count on it as being a 100% bullet proof, reliable daily driver. It is the car I drive on long trips, because I still trust it to not leave me stranded in the middle of ****ing nowhere.

When I bought the car, it was up in the Jersey Shore, damn Sopranos territory and I drove it to Nashville TN with no problems. Like I said, I use it for long trips and have driven it from Nashville to St. Louis 4 or 5 times, Nashville to Atlanta at least 10 times, Savannah GA once, Ft Walton Beach FL 4 times, Columbus OH 5 or 6 times. best trip was to Utah and back to Tennessee.

Anyways, I just have to tip my hat to Toyota, for building such an awesome car that even 24 years later, I still trust it to be there for me. Maybe they built it a bit too strong, as I won't trade it in for a new Toyota.

Getting back on topic, what do you love most about your daily driver . . . . . . .

 

It's very simple what I love about my DD---500lbft of torque, plus 30mpg. Of course it's comfortable, handles decently, and has enough equipment to keep me content. Maintenance is dead simple--I don't even have to get dirty when I change the oil every 13k miles. But it really comes down to those two numbers. Fun plus frugality. In the warmer months I take more advantage of the first number, which drops the second one to more like 28 mpg, but I'm totally fine with that

 

50 mpg on the ES300h Big and fuel efficient, a rare combo.

 

Not sure how you're getting those numbers. I was recently in one of these as a loaner and struggled to get it to approach the rated 40 mpg.

 

hahaa, my SC300 averages about 20mpg, in town with me driving like those Duke Boys its more like 15 to 17mpg.

 

I like the Buick Verano because it gives big-car refinement/quiteness, plenty of sound insulation, solid Opel-based construction, reliability, plenty of features, and the ease of maneuvering and parking a fairly small car, for only 25K. Negatives are that engine noise would be less with a small V6 (which it lacks), and the 18" wheels/45-series tires are IMO a little too firm-riding for a Buick, though you only really feel them on bumpy surfaces. But the car is generally quiet as it is.

 

my jeep grand cherokee summit provides a great balance of luxury, utility (cargo / passenger room), and refinement (quiet, including acoustic glass and noise cancellation tech). i get 22mpg which for a heavy suv is not bad at all. i'm still shocked at how nice the interior is. it's got almost every current 'gizmo' on it, except for lane keep assist and they all work great.

 

I like that my daily drivers are incognito and dont attract attention as much. I notice that when I drive my "NICER" cars that most people tend to think I am showing off or something when reality is I just LOVE cars! I could care less about impressing anyone. If that was the case, I would not daily an e36 m3 (has rust and faded paint), or a rust bucket miata LOL.

ON the flip side however, I do notice people treat you differently in a less desired car. It is really hit or miss..

My Son however hates the "Lesser" of the cars we own. He tells me they are "Scrappy". Gotta love 7 year olds..

I enjoy driving my '92 everyday as well I also want to build another 5 speed so someone else can enjoy a manual SC

 

The plush interior and refined drive train are what seems to be selling this generation of JGCs.

 

1995 Ls400. cushy soft 100% reliable rock solid build quality great sound system freezing ac. also has plenty of power when merging. also on the highway. most modern cars are quick from a stop but seem to run out of steam around 80 mph. the Ls400 accelerates just as hard at 80 as it does at 30

 

V8, classic good looking sedan, V8.

 

S5... love the speed, the handling, the exhaust note, the well-made driver-centric interior, the exterior styling, that I can actually fit someone in the back seat and that it has a decent-sized trunk. Also love the fact that I don't see them at every stoplight.
