Lexus officially started sales in Turkey last week with the opening of a showroom in the neighbourhood of Maslak in Istanbul. The initial lineup will consist of the RX, NX, GS, RC, IS and LS, with a strong emphasis on the new 2.0l turbo engine and hybrid models. Each Lexus sold will include out-of-office hours servicing and support anywhere in Turkey.
Lexus expects to sell 250 vehicles in Turkey this year, and has a 1,000 unit sales goal within 5 years. New showrooms are planned for Ankara, Izmir, Bursa, Antalya and Adana. In addition, Lexus owners will have access to a network of nearly 60 service points across the country.

Best selling vehicles are very similar to nearby Greece, so cars like Yaris and Corolla. Actually Corolla is one of the best sellers there since they had a good plant in Turkey for a long time now.
Interesting to our US readers might be that Lexus dealership in turkey is Lexus factory owned, like many others in Europe.
NX will likely be best selling vehicle for sure. I wonder if they will sell ES300h there like in Russia.

Now the question is there a market for Lexus?? Apparently Toyota thinks so. I'd imagine the more rugged GX and LX SUV's would be more popular in eastern Turkey, but then again that part of the country doesn't have any sort of wealth to afford luxury 4x4's.

In next 5-10 years, Turkey is quite likely to enter EU, if it still exists.
Ottoman empire came up to Hungary, it does not mean that those countries are not European.
Once again, their market has nothing to do with Quatar or other middle eastern countries where GX or LX are popular. Such cars do not sell at all in Turkey. There are no sand dunes in Turkey, there is no oil and free money. Their sales and popular brands are similar to countries like Poland.
LX and GX are not going to be sold at all. NX and RX are likely going to be "popular", and maybe IS300h as well since they like sedans there.
