Like many of you in this tight knit community, all of us here at Bulletproof Automotive are HUGE enthusiasts of the performance and aftermarket automotive industry. We love supporting parts and vendors that produce authentic, high-quality parts and build amazing cars.
As many of you know, our core passion revolves around the JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) Culture including the high-end cars, amazing parts, and all of the people that make up the small island of Japan.
Every year in January, Japan hosts one of the most amazing events in the auto industry called Tokyo Auto Salon. At the beginning of every year, our Bulletproof Automotive crew makes the long trek to Tokyo where the event is held to attend the show. This also gives us a chance to check in with many of our Japanese vendors and partners that we represent here in North America as well.
Auto Salon houses some of the top JDM brands, manufacturers, and tuners that many of you might already be familiar with. Brands like Varis, Powerhouse Amuse, Mine's, Novel, AIMGAIN, Artisan Spirits, Volk, Advan, and much MUCH more.
Auto Salon is the largest performance aftermarket automotive event that allows the premium tuner shops and manufacturers to show their new performance parts, demo cars, and accessories for the coming year to the public.
In the past, we've documented this event on other social media outlets and forums; however, this will be the first year we share our journey with you guys on Club Lexus.
Through our many partnerships and close connections with the top JDM vendors, we have special access to the event before the doors open to the public. In this thread, we want to share with you guys some of the new, cool, and sometimes weird cars and parts that we see there.
So sit back and enjoy some of these awesome photos from our crew at this year's 2016 Tokyo Auto Salon...
To kick things off, we thought it fitting to show you what Varis has in-store for the Lexus platform in 2016. Some of you may know already and some of you may not so I'll start this post off with the release of the new Varis Lightweight Carbon Fiber Cooling Bonnet (Hood) for the RCF. Varis has been diligently working on designing and producing a lightweight hood alternative for RCF platform. This is especially good news for us here in North America. Unlike other areas of the world, our optional carbon package didn't offer the gorgeous factory Lexus carbon hood that many others were able to receive. However, thanks to Varis, we now have a solution to that problem. Varis not only wanted their hood to look incredible, they also wanted it to be an improvement over the stock form which is why they made it out of carbon fiber to reduce the weight of the long RCF hood. Additionally they designed large air cooling vents in the center of the hood that are completely functional. For those of you worried about the rain, Varis offers easy to install carbon rain guards which are included with every Varis hood to keep that wonderfully massive V8 in tip top shape.
Some of you have already experienced the premium quality that Varis offers. Varis aero parts not only look incredible, the design, engineering, and quality of the parts are fantastic.
They invest an incredible amount of time and energy into the development and production of each part. Each kit is special made by hand from some of the most skilled craftsman in the world and it's apparent in the details in all of their parts. Once you've had the experience of examining, touching, or installing a Varis part in person, you can see why they're at the top of the their game in the industry.

While we're on the topic of Varis, lets check out what else they've got going this year. We've got exclusive floor access during TAS setup day...
Varis comes out with an updated version of their Magnum Opus RCF. Newly revised with the Varis carbon cooling bonnet (hood) + Amuse R1 Titan full Titanium Exhaust with the Powerhouse Amuse signature gold ring tips... I think I see some Volk G25's in the mix too!!
That finished Varis hood for the RCF is gorgeous!!
Gorgeous shots of the new Varis Kamikaze-R Version 2 wide body kit for the R35 GTR. **Insert jaw dropping emoji here**

Our guys saw some pretty sweet stuff both at the Tokyo Auto Salon event and just strolling around Japan. When we're not in meetings with vendors or at Auto Salon, we do the total tourist thing every time we go... Check out some of these super cool and random cars we saw there while walking around... These were taken pre-Auto Salon so before we actually got to the event....

Moving back into event center where TAS 2016 was held, we noticed some more RCF's scattered around the event center. This year was big for Lexus...

We took a trip over to AIMGAIN's booth. Most of you Lexus guys are familiar with AIMGAIN. They had a crazy new body kit for the Aventador. That all carbon chassis mounted GT wing is insane!! Their carbon work on this was impeccable!!
Many of you have already seen the AIMGAIN RC350 F Sport... but here it is again for you. It's just a good looking car, especially seeing it on a nice set of 20" AIMGAIN GIIM Wheels.

And yes, @Dave600hL is correct. Most of the Varis GT wings are adjustable so @Dave600hL is correct.... it's to adjust the angle of the wing.

Our Bulletproof crew had a chance to scope out the J&K Supercharged RCF while at Tokyo Auto Salon.
We're waiting for them to get back from Japan with more info on this kit. It's just a really cool car in general.
