I'm fine with the idea of a 'halo car' or 'vanity project' but why in God's name did Lexus not go whole hog with the interior also? It looks horribly dated like the current design across the Lexus models.

I don't agree with that, nor do any of the reviews of the car. The reviews of the interior have been very positive.

You have a tendency to reject any poster's opinion that differs from yours.
This is a FORUM - everyone has different thoughts.

I said over and over, the interior in person will not blow you away at all.
Just look at my video! I think the gauges are the coolest thing about it.
The MMI interface is really dated and way behind Audi, BMW and MB.

The engine dates back 10yrs to original ISF.
The new 10speed Auto is a positive but they need 600hp + engine to put this thing on the map.

New 6 and 8 Series are coming, new E class coupe as well - tons of competition.

I hate for this thing to be discontinued like the old SC.

I'm not rejecting anything, I do have a right to disagree you know.

No offense, but I don't consider you to be an unbiased source based on your record of being extremely critical of Lexus and Lexus products. You're a BMW fan and that comes through in everything you post.

Regardless of your opinion when you saw it, that doesn't change the fact that overwhelmingly most of the professional and enthusiast reviews of the interior have been positive. I haven't seen the car myself yet so I'll post my thoughts when I do.

We get it, the most important thing to you is a huge HP number, thats always your criticism. Not everybody is so focused on that.

Noone is unbiased, we all have our preferences.
I try to post facts as much as I can.
I have 2 Subarus as well, 1 of them being 50% Toyota.

Many members here have been critical of Lexus bec they are lagging in many areas from where they were 10-15yrs ago.
LC has a lot of potential but old engine and high price will not help.
Those are unbiased opinions.

Have you driven one of the F cars with the 5 Liter Engine? Just curious because it is a very smooth and powerful engine. Inserting a new engine for the sake of new makes no sense. Seems to me that for a "base" engine in the LC it is perfect and will do the job admirably. I have not driven nor seen an LC in person, so aside from others reviews and fist hand I have nothing to add to the argument. That being said I have spent 60K+ miles with the engine in our ISF, and have driven BMW turbo sixes and Benz turbo eights and sixes and frankly I prefer the smooth refined feel of the Lexus v8, even if ultimately it is not as powerful. Coming from supercharged American 8v's I love power, but in a luxury ride there is something to be said for the smooth application of that power and a nice sound to go with it.

I Have driven a # of RCFs and ISFs even on track.

5.0 engine is great and plenty of power for 99.9% of people.
Unfortunately when it comes to sales and dropping $100k on a fancy coupe, typical buyers want to see big #s for HP or a Badge. MB can get away with selling 4cyl Eclass and nobody cares. But for Lexus, they need to be more competitive to win their share of a market space they never really been in for past 10 years.

Look at BMW as example with the i8.....they cant sell this thing bec nobody wants hybrid inline 3 engine. It sold well in 1st year bec it looks cool but now there is no demand.

+1. I have learned to use the ignore feature when I need to.

Despite your comments on the LC, I do believe that the LC will do very well for Lexus.

All that matters is that the LC comes to fruition. From there it can make inroads into the brand and be adapted and refreshed to better perfect the imperfections.

There is no such thing as an "unbiased opinion". All opinions are biased.

He's not wrong, the reviews for exterior AND interior have been stellar, if we're talking about actual car reviews, newsletters, articles. I have my own little gripes about the interior but generally speaking, it was very well done.

So you want the LC to be cheaper than $80k and have more than 600hp while the 650i coupe only has 445hp and starts at $89k?

Your expectations are pretty absurd. According to all of the articles written on the LC, this thing is already on the map and ahead of the pack, and it did it with 471hp.

I don't think the reviews have been stellar.....very, very good is what I would say they have been.
