^^ Welcome to the launch of the LFA, new GS, RC F & GS F .. Originally Posted by situman

They need to target Summer or Spring for this LC 500.. Summer 16' the car won't be ready..
So, it will go on sale hopefully early 2017 as a MY18
Had they debuted this car next year at NAIAS, it would then go on sale the following month or two. Not enough time in between.. Plus NAIAS is the biggest of shows for World Debuts..
Can't wait to see the Final Version of the Standard Glass Roof (opposed to the optional CF)

From the beginning they had the LC 500 h in mind.. It's already trademarked.. Originally Posted by situman

Will they make a TT V6 or V8 version LC F -> Will be waiting a bit longer to find that out for sure..
Lexus is slowing moving off the NA platforms.. So we will see larger Turbo versions of the V6 and maybe the V8's ..
The 4 cycl 200 T motor is only the beginning.. First Debuted in the NX, now already moved into IS, RC & GS as examples in the USA

Nobody really talk about the engine. It is so nice to have the dual intake Inlet that help the engine produce louder sound when the car start. Hopefully the 10 speeds will shift faster than the 8speeds . Lexus RCF probably get update to 10speeds at the mud cycle refresh.

The LC and upcoming LS share a chassis. Likely lining up the models and nomenclature.Originally Posted by ST430
2) Why the LC moniker, instead of SC? Does that mean the BMW/Lexus venture will bear the SC then? So you would have the RC as the compact, the SC as a pure performance sports car, and the LC as the luxo GT?
I'd like to see an SC return either between the RC and LC or as some top of the line exotic $150K model against the AMG GT

My question is why the LC500 only makes 467hp when this 5.0L V8 offers a second intake, not the exact same RC F/GS F engine Originally Posted by EthanV

Having TWO smaller intake boxes with TWO flaps that open, won't change the power output of the rated 2UR-GSE : V8 467 HP Originally Posted by Hoovey2411

RC F / GS F - Motor inserted for comparison.
Below are the 2018 LC 500 - Awesome Pics

Except for that grille and the over designed headlights it looks goooood.
I really love the interior with the exception of the steering wheel which looks like more spokes and buttons than grip.
I think it was Calty, but I agree with you. The SC300/400 is one of my all-time favorite designs. The LC500 is an appropriate replacement because (like the SC) it is stunning and nothing else on the road looks like it.Originally Posted by val3ntine7

A bit of trivia... Calty also contributed to the design of the 4GS interior, which is also quite nice.
Yeah I really wish they had called it the SC, as it really is a spiritual sucessor to the original SC. Both cars, in 1991 and in 2016, they really are beautiful, futuristic designs that nobody had ever seen anything like that before.
Going back to 1991-1992, you have to remember how squarely styled and overly chromed luxury cars were back then. About the only other thing that looked even remotely futuristic at that time was the BMW 850i.

Yes, the absence of chrome and a grille, and the purity of design took the SC300/400 to a whole different level. I remember seeing a comparison test with the Lincoln Mark VIII. Which looks better today?Originally Posted by Aron9000

I've always been a fan of the Lincoln Mark series, back from their land yacht glory days in the 60's/70's. I loved the Mark VII too, that was another revolutionary design for its time as well. The Mark VIII, well its like the designer was that sociopath kid who melted ants with a magnifying glass. The Mark VIII looks like a melted Mark VII, hate that car with a passion(its horrible interior didn't help matters)

In price and luxury amenities, it makes sense for it to be called the LC, as in LS Coupe. Im pretty sure the LF-FC concept is what we can expect for the LS and it has similar design elements to this LC.Originally Posted by Aron9000

When that first LS400 launched back in 1989 it did rather look like the only thing Lexus was missing was a bit of history, a little mythology to call its own. With cars like the LFA behind it, it is now time to move on, move forward and out of the shade of the European brands; the LC500 is way too striking to fit inside anyone’s shadow.

This is the most positive the press has been about a Lexus product since the LFA. It's kind of a shame that it's over a year away. Hopefully, they will tease or release more info on the LC 500h and the LC-F.

Yea, the press is crazy, the LC is so sexy that those who typically comment on the more negative side about the spindle grill leaves the grill as an afterthought.
