those are the coolest vehicles this side of the Batmobile. a member of the church next to my office has one. said he, literally, had to buy it from a man down at Daytona bike week. the waiting list is that long. coolest thing about em other than the looks? its got a proper manual transmission with 3 pedals and a stick shift.

i rented the CanAm spyders on my last trip to SF. had a blast. theyve got NOTHING on the Slingshot...

Yeah due to stupid regulations in certain states, they have ruled the Slingshot is not a motorcycle and banned it for sale. Hawaii is one state that has banned it, which is a shame, as I'd imagine it would sell quite well there with the perfect weather they have.

 

I see one around me all the time. From what I've heard, AL is trying to ban them as well. I really like the concept, but my brother is a mechanic at a Honda/Yamaha/Polaris dealer, & after hearing about the issues people have with Polaris, I don't think I could buy anything from them.

 

Yup see those more frequently here in Cali... one of my clients took me for a ride in his. Feels like a road legal go-cart all grins.

 

Saw one at a Cars and Coffee event yesterday. The crowd around it was the same size as the one around a LaFerrari next to it.
Because it is classed as a motorcycle they can get around some safety regulations.
