Thoughts on 2015 sonata?
I would say the new Genesis has a better interior than both the 5 series and GS.
Back to the Sonata, it of course is not the equal of the Genesis...but then, it costs much less.
I made a thread previously about getting my sister a short term rental but decided to just buy her one.
What are you guys thought on new sonata? Just test drove one and it was pretty nice. Could not believe sport model had a dual exhaust tips..
wish my 14 GS had one..
I was impressive since normally i do not really pay attention to other brand than Lexus or BMW, etc..What are your thoughts?? is there something i need to know if i buy it??

The difference is that Hyundai has been packing more standard features for the same price point as other more competitive cars. For example, the new Pilot comes with heated and vented front seats, and heated rear seats, but only if you pony up for the Elite trim level for $46K. You can get those features in a $40K Santa Fe GLS (and until a month ago, you couldn't get vented front seats or heated rear seats in a Pilot at all--Hyundai is forcing other car companies to up their game on features).
Quality of plastic/leather, fit/finish, lighting, infotainment screens, gauges, are all a step behind in the Genesis compared to GS and 5Series.
It does have more standard features at a lower price though....but you get what you pay for.
I'm a big Genesis fan, I LOVE the new Genesis, and while the interior is very high quality with nice materials, from a "look" and style perspective I think its behind with the GS and the 5 Series. Overall as a car, I think the Genesis is arguably a better car...its a better riding car...but from an interior perspective it doesn't wow me, and the GS and 5 series do in the right trims.

I've rented about five 2015 Sonatas and three 2015 Camrys. A key feature of the Sonata is low levels of road vibration, whereas the Camry has constant little jiggles. Another Sonata feature is eerie quietness at highway speeds on smooth blacktop. The 4 cyl Camry wins on engine power and transmission responsiveness. Also wins on directional stability at highway speeds. And wins on standard features in the base model (e.g. lumbar support). Camry wins hugely on resale value and mechanical reliability/durability. And wins on dealership buying and servicing experience. Overall Camry wins. Sonata is a close second choice, however.
Interior trim wise, I'm with mmarshal on this one. I think the Genesis and GS are on par when it comes to interior design and quality feel. BMW, I know they use quality materials for their vehicles but it just doesn't feel as good as the others. I was very much surprised at how nice the Genesis interior is.
