Only this time, though, they won't have Carroll Shelby's expertise behind them like they did 50 years ago. Carroll's passed on. Of course, the state of race-car engineering has advanced so much during during that time that maybe he won't be as missed as would otherwise be the case.
The original Ford GT's closest competitor at Le Mans, of course, (besides the Ferraris) was Jim Hall and his famous Chevy Chaparral 2F. It will be interesting to see if Chevy also returns....lately, they have been most tied up in NASCAR.
