What are your alternatives to Lexus models?
Yes, you would have to get that in Canada. The HTrac 5.0 version is not available in the U.S (only the 3.8)....Hyundai claims it is because of American CAFE gas-mileage regulations.
my next car will likely be lightly used (up to 40k miles), since thats best tax wise around here... so other than IS300h or GS450h, I would get nicely equipped A5 Sportback or A6. All MB 2-3yr old cars are way too old in style and functionality, BMW is just too cold for me (i like 5 series but it is really huge fleet car around here with no personality), A5 or A6 seems to be right there where with decent equipment and wheels they look tight.
Sadly unless our tax laws change significantly in next year, I will end up with A5 or A6, since they are such huge fleet vehicles that their value drops like a stone in 2 years / 35k miles, and it is actually cheaper to buy used A6 than IS300h which is crazy.
Right now, for something like IS300h, with great CO2 output, I still have to spend 35% on taxes. GS450h is something like 55% taxes. Used to be until 2 years ago that I could write-off 70% of tax for business purposes and if that happens again, ever, i might get new IS300h facelift next year.

in a way though, i think audi used prices drop so much for a reason. i have no problem getting a used audi but at the same time i won't feel good keeping the car for long
If they reinstate tax reimbursement, it will come down to 11% tax, which is really not bad at all and "base" IS300h becomes very viable vehicle to purchase (they sell some mid spec level as base these days as a incentive)..
When it comes to Germans, right now in Germany where we import cars from, they have 15%-30% discount on every new vehicle thats on the lot. Thats what brings the resale down plus tax deductions for business users, so massive amount of these cars are sold like fleet - something like 70% is considered "fleet sales", up to 90% for some popular models.
Thats why used market is then flooded with them in 2-3 years and prices are just silly. Then you can afford well equipped A5 or A6 (both are base with cloth here so you have to spend extra 30% to make it decent enough) since the price is rock bottom.
I dont think Europe really considers German cars in same way as US, they have good reputation basically despite what every reliability report in Europe says, they are still considered "built like a tank". Of course, Japanese are considered well but Germans are not seen as negative.... French and Italian are seen as horrible even if sometimes BMW and VW models are rated worse in surveys.
yep, it is 35% vs 55%, partially due to CO2 (109g vs 143g) and partially due to higher purchase price.

Maybe is because the M4 is 3600 lbs and the RC-F is 4000 lbs.....................

well that's with them using a LEGO chassis. if they didn't do that i would expect the rcf to be lighter. but then again we have the gsf at over 4000lb too
Only at the LFA level is a bespoke chassis.
Then again, the 570S/650S/P1 are all on basically the same chassis, basically the same engine too, Mclaren definitely milking it good at that exotic/hyper level!

we know why the RC-F is heavy, it doesn't have any CF like the M4 have, definitely don't need that silly active spoiler............
couldn't tell if you were joking or not, but we already know how little cf roof and such can save
