First Photos Of Honda’s New Civic Hatchback
http://www.carscoops.com/2016/02/fir...new-civic.html
Honda will give be giving us a modestly exaggerated idea of what their 2017 Civic Hatch will look like with a concept model at next week’s Geneva Motor Show.

As you can see from these low-res, but official images that popped up online, the Civic Hatchback Prototype is nothing more than the production car adorned with a stylish body-kit that gives it a more aggressive appearance through the modified bumpers, side skirts, chunky alloy wheels and lime-green accents.

The design is a continuation of the new Civic saloon (already on sale in the USA) and coupe models with the same cues on the front and rear ends, though the hatchback’s smaller footprint and differentiated roofline afford it a more dynamic stance.

For the European market, Honda has already confirmed two new VTEC turbocharged gasoline engines with a displacement of 1.0-liters and 1.5-liters for the Civic, while in North America, the hatch should come with the 1.5-liter turbo and the 2.0-liter turbo VTECs.

All Civic hatchbacks will be built by Honda at its Swindon factory in Britain.

The only turn off I have about hi-performance hatchs is the wrong wheel drive. Hope Honda give the Type-R AWD like the RS.

It looks like this one grew quite a bit to accommodate US market I guess. Or its just a roofline that looks stretched and tight.

I doubt there will be a awd Honda civic Type R but Acura will likely get a version with awd.

Yeah, that's more possible. Next gen ILX Type-R with Sh-AWD would be sweet.

not really a stupid concept--this is basically production ready.

the sedan is a slightly flatter version of it already.

Honda's concepts are always merely dressed-up versions of their upcoming production models. The production Civic Hatchback will look like this (without the boy-racer add-ons and perhaps without the centre-mounted exhaust).

I am going to withhold judgement of the Hatch until I see it. After following the new sedan on the highway this morning, I am not a fan; perhaps it was the grey colour that emphasized all the incongruent and incongruous lines and angles.

It is an ugly effer, but the former boy racer in me is digging it. It's edgier out of the box than all of its competition.

It's starting to grow on me, which is good, as the previous generation never did.
