Petition: Sewell Parts is closing down.
I just talked to a part's guy over there to follow up on an order I placed just before the shut down, there is a delay fulfilling the orders because they had a huge influx of orders right before the shut down.
Of course I asked about the reason for the shut down, he confirmed it is dictated by corporate Lexus. Sewell's online website sales is so successful that they are taking a lot of sales away from local dealers, corporate doesn't like that to be happening

Petition signed. Man, such a great source of information and window shopability lost. Sure, there are other places to go and purchase parts but at this point in time their website was the best for genuine Lexus parts. I do hope things turn around on this or that some of the other alternative Lexus on-line sales dealerships up their game (and websites) to fill the quite large hole that has been left. It would also be nice if an honest statement was made by Sewell (or Lexus) as to the reasoning for this. Nothing more frustrating than not having the whole, truthful story. It all seems very fishy to me. I really can't imagine that we (the DIYer on-line shopping types) constitute a very large portion of Lexus' part sales. I would like to think we are a huge community but the fact that only 233 people have signed the petition (quite possibly in vain, but you never know) leads me to believe we are a very small minority. Whatever the case, here's hoping for the best.

Allow them to come on here and defend their business model of throwing customers under the bus to squeeze every last dollar out of them via dictatorial control of their supply lines.
Fascists. I hate it when people eliminate competition. If other dealers were getting butt-hurt -- they should have opened up their own online parts stores and start selling to the community instead of shutting down the people out competing them.
We should also find out what dealers were complaining about it, and throw egg all over their face. I am sure that the guys who work at Sewell Parts know roughly who the loud mouths were, and who the decision maker was. Create an "anon" account on here, let us know, and let the forum raise all kinda of hell.
