I have owned silverstar lights in the past on my civic. They only lasted 6m each. I replced them with another silverstar, and they only lasted 5month.

I used to use Sylvania Silverstars in my old Accord. Color was much improved but they seemed to die fairly regularly...

Expensive, but it'll last. Most, if not all "white" halogen bulbs are pretty much the same. They're tinted on the outside but will eventually fade and burn out. Silverstars were the craze back when HID kits were relatively new but their lifespan was horrible.

pretty cool!

but I think I'd just go with a decent HID kit.

Is short life a common problem with aftermarket bulbs - Including the better brands?

My parents have a Honda Pilot that i drive on occasion, they always complain they can't see at night so I did some research and replace their low/hi beam with PIAA NIGHT TECH. Its almost HID-like in sharpness and worlds apart from Stock Honda bulb.. Its really the best for a regular bulb so far IMO.. I got it for $40 on Amazon..

I believe the Honda Accords use H11's --

Btw, its been on the car since Feb. of 2013 (21 months) so far. I read some reviews of short life but I think most people don't know how to handle a bulb.. I wore rubber gloves installing them. My parents drive every night and are supremely happy with them! I drive it at nights sometimes and its superior bulb on the market (for seeing) not display HID colors. LOL

Philips Diamond Vision. Nothing compares, been through them all. Only get them if you like pure white HID light, they are exactly the same as HID unlike other bulbs which claim to be white light. Below you can see a standard halogen bulb vs a diamond vision bulb.

Once you go to them you'll get a sickness I call white fever and you'll wind up replacing your fogs with hyper white LEDS, and your DRLs...it never stops

The wattage is how much power the bulb consumes, not how much light it puts out. If you go with higher than the standard wattage, you risk melting the plastic/reflector inside the headlight housing, not to mention possibly even a wiring harness.
