Used Sequoia or Landcruiser?
Hi,
I have 3 Lexus Sc's. For winter, we really need a truck. I am going to sell one Sc and get one. I'm in love with Toyota/Lexus so I'm staying in the family. We will need to tow, so it looks like I will be getting another gas guzzler V8. It is going to have to be Sequoia or Landcruiser. The V8 Lexus trucks are out of our reach. I will be buying a medium mileage used vehicle in the 8K to 13K range. If we can get a great truck closer to 8K we would love that.
I want reliability/durability most of all.
What would you choose and why? Anyone have experience with both?
Any Tips?
Thank You!

Land Cruisers are just 100x more solid than the Sequoia to begin with. Rugged Full Time 4WD, better interior materials, etc. How much weight are you looking to tow? You could find a Pre-2010 4Runner with V8 or possible Lexus GX470 that could your needs. I don't think you'll find a new gen Sequoia at your price point.

4Runner, GX and Land Cruiser/LX also were all made in one of Toyota's top plants in Japan, which I'm a little biased on, over the Indiana plant where the Sequoia is made.
The LX/Land Cruiser is ultra smooth when you drive it, the engine, trans, suspension. It almost feels like driving a car.
I would suggest to drive both and see which you like. The Sequoia does have larger interior.

I had a 2000 LX 470 which was essentially was a Land Cruiser with more panache. These things are bullet proof and had no issues at all. The MPG was at best around 17-18 combined. So smooth. Loved the ride height adjustment feature, impresses your friends.
